So the check engine light came on due to bad cam sensor, I just called the dealer about 5 minutes ago and the guy told me that there is 4 cam sensor on the 2006 c230 and each coast $240. I found it online $160 all I would like to know if its true that's there is 4

I believe that is correct for your 2.5L V6 engine. Ridiculous prices, but another member had cam sensor failure on his 2007 C230 recently and also had to pay that much for the sensor. Sucks, I know.

Wow...Good thing my Brother in-law is the service manager at my local Mercedes Dealership. I'll be sure to stay married to my wife as long as I have my MB ; )

Yes, there are 4 on all M272 engines. You don't need to replace all 4. The code read should tell you which bank and whether it is intake or exhaust sensor.

Last 4 cars were BMW's and I still adore the brand. This is my first Benz purchased for a long commute. The brand, gas mileage and the fact that my BIL works for MB helped close the deal. My 06 W203 was a good deal price wise and at 30mpg highway you can't go wrong.

Still like the BMW for spirited driving though the MB is not bad.

Owning both BMW and Benz is an honor. They're both very different but very special to own and drive. Can't imagine not having both!

I drove my wife's 128i on our Vegas trip (650 miles). Loved it. More quiet, solid, responsive, and comfortable than the C320.

I too love both brands, and from what little I've gotten to drive my moms BMW, I can say without a doubt that it handles MUCH better than a MB.

The 128 seems a different animal than the 135. My C230 is more comfortable and quieter than my 135. The 135 is more solid and responsive, though - as it should be nearly 5 years newer and with 1/8th as many miles. I had to have the N54 twin-turbo engine. Long term reliability means nothing to me on the BMW as it will be gone around the time the warranty expires anyway.

Yes....power is less, but smoother. Suspension is softer, but harder than the C. Brakes are less technical but still more than we need. The 135 was too harsh all around for a daily driver.

Not to discount your experience, but your results would be exactly what I would expect when comparing a <1-year-old car with brand spanking new technology and parts and few miles on it to a 9-year-old car with 9-year-old technology, old/worn parts, and over 100,000 miles on it (assumption). If a brand new BMW performed worse than your 9-year-old Mercedes (or ANY 9-year-old car for that matter), I would be very surprised!

Fair assumptions, but you haven't ridden in my C Those that have cannot believe it has 165K miles on it. I made similar trips in the C when it was new and although impressive, they weren't as impressive as the BMW. I was expecting a harsher ride (run flats & sportier suspension) but it was noticeably better. Granted that the six speed tranny helps more in the BMW but the inline six is much smoother and quieter than the V6. I am pleased that the C has weathered extremely well inside, out, and mechanically. The amount of effort to fix defects and 'bugs' (not wear items) was overly excessive but worth the effort. No "new technology" other than the trans having 1 more gear but I rarely was out of top gear. All being said, you are correct, comparing cars 9 years apart is questionable.
