To those who've opened headlights: should I use more "glue"?

I opened up my CLK BiX headlights so I could get the shrouds painted to match the car, and I'm wondering if I should add any more glue when I go back together with the lens. This is the first time I've ever opened up headlights and I want to be sure they won't leak and get moisture inside.

its rubber butyl, nissan sells a roll for $20. Its the same stuff all the oem manufacturers use.

Oh yeah, make sure you use the automotive rubber butyl such as the nissan sealant. DO NOT USE the ones for your home windows, that variant can't take the heat that headlights produce.

If you dont want to pay $20, you can also use silicone.

Alright, that's what I need. Do you think it'll be necessary to add more?

Alright, I think I was pretty careful. I'll take a look at them later and make an executive decision. I'm pretty sure I got all the cracks from the broken tabs filled in, so they should be air tight.

Maybe I'll just do that then, I have plenty of gray GM engine sealant.
