Anyone tried the aftermarket folding mirrors off eBay?
I'm considering getting the power folding mirrors for my car so stupid people don't scratch up my mirrors. I wasn't able to find any factory mirrors anywhere right now, but I did find some brand new aftermarket mirror internals on eBay that I would just need to swap my housing on. It says they're compatible with folding and memory so they should work. I'm just wondering if anyone's tried them and how good the quality is. They're about $200 each. I suppose then I'd also need the correct headlight switch (even though I only want to use these to fold when I lock the doors).

It will not work. Someone just hit my car and ran. Called the dealer, it cost about $1200. I called junk yards, they do have the mirror, but Mercedes mirrors are tricky, you have to have the exact match with the original on your car in order for it to work as each mirror set has its own plug. If you get a wrong plug, it will not work. I suggest not to buy it.

Back home, SO MANY Cs have these 'Taiwanese' folding mirrors on and those mirrors sell easily. I've never heard a single complain tho!

I was interested in these. And I still am. Im waiting for someone here to try 'em Out. And I was wondering if I could use my stock mirror housing and swap the components to avoid haviing to paint them in Arctic white.

The ones I saw on there only come with the internal components and swap the exterior housing over. I thought about maybe buying one to see if it would work, but if it doesn't then I'm stuck with one aftermarket mirror. The seller has seperate mirrors listed for pre 04.5 cars and 05-07 cars and states in the auction they have different pins/connectors/something.
