^^^ I think you'd have to have Xenon = Present for the DRLs to work correctly. I know that without the error eliminators you will have problems with the DRL. I have had my DRLs turned off since before I got the HIDs, but I will check to see how they function with the error eliminators and report back, but I doubt they will work well/at all.

@ poseter #98 and #99 - I suppose the rich blue/violet flicker from Bentlys, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari and Range Rovers looks tacky to you guys too. Cool. That's your opinion. I'm not going to knock you because you have bad taste, rather different taste/opinion than mine. And how is my decision making process or preference an "excuse" or even a "lame one" at that.
Get down off the cross, we need the wood

@ the "be an adult" lecture with massive grammar errors. Seriously.

Call it what you want.. I was stating fact. 4100-4300k color range provides the most usable light. Go beyond this and you start losing light output. Increasing usable light is the main reason for HID technology. Again, fact.

OEM HIDs have projectors and reflectors that are designed around their characteristics. This is why they appear more blue than they really are. All OEM systems are between 4100k and 4300k no matter how they appear.

So, again, ridiculously high kelvin ratings = pointless. Fact.

Now, if that's what you want so be it. It is your car and your money.

Thanks...Ill wait for your verdict... before deciding whether to add the error eliminators in my order.

BTW...I didnt know you guys had the option of switching on the DRL's if you want...

yep, we get that option. Depending on who you ask, though, it works differently.

Drew.. my car's DRL works correctly now. And if I hit a sharp enough bump, my car decides that the transmission should be in "C" rather than "S".

These cars really do have some personalities. My car didn't want to start after I let it sit out for a day in the cold. Then the transmission's been weird. Today, though, same temperature, no problems. It just doesn't like being ignored.

My car has never had weird start issues. The transmission can be jerky every now and then, but I know it needs a fluid change (72k). I'm on my original battery, too! It can be a creaky b!tch if left out in the cold overnight, though - it's used to my 70F garage. It has been out and about in the frigid weather lately. The roads were iced over EVERYWHERE here over the weekend and I put ABS and ESP to so many tests, some intentional, some not - all passed with flying colors.

GF/Wife? Does Not Compute.

Also, you'll need to make sure your lighting setting is "MANUAL" because if it is set to constant, it will cause errors.

I wish I could garage my car all the time, but I can't. I take great care of her, though.

Is the for older models? I had mine set to constant for about six months with no issues?

Sigh.. these cars are so different from year to year. If you set Headlamps = Constant, the proper behavior is for the lo-beam headlights to run at reduced power. HIDs are very sensitive to this and won't fire up.

Maybe mine doesn't work because I have 55w and the 35w ones will, I dunno. There is very little uniformity among these cars.

My thought was that the error eliminators might fix this

didn't we already discuss the lower voltage? yeah this is defiantly ignoring that they have so many different things with these cars.

is it that hard for me to take out the h7 bulb? it's not just a twist off i think... i see like couple screws inside... i think it might be just easier if i just take off the whole bumper to install my fogs and and low beams =/ any input please! would like to finish this by friday

There is a bracket around the bulb (H7) that twists, but the bulb itself doesn't. I do think you have to take off the bumper to do the fogs. It is easier, since it's already off, to do the headligths like that. DDM has really good directions in PDF form. The directions for removing/replacing the bulb are slightly different.

Hey bdgdl08,

Did you have a chance to check if the DDM kits work with the DRL's set to on without/with the error cancellers, or do I need to have Xenon set to present?

Thanks.

Sorry, I checked today, and DRLs do not work without Xenon set to present, even with error eliminators. Sorry mate.
