Sorry to bring bad news. I hope you can get everything done. I am going to try on Friday while my car is in for an alignment. I'll see what happens, and have the PDF ready.

So I called my indy dealership in Gainesville about the alignment. The dealership here in Jax quoted me $120 and said that it would take all day. The shop in G-ville said $90 and that it would take 2 hours. While I was on the phone, I asked the shop in G about star and tweaking settings. The head service guy said that that would be fine. He has an E55 and said he changed the ride height with STAR. He asked if I had directions, just to help the tech out, which I do. He also said that, if it took less than 15 min to do it would be free. I really love that shop.

Checked with my stealership. They are willing to set Xenon = Present provided I bring the instructions.
They will charge one hour labor (CAD$109.95+13% tax) even though I know it wont take more than 15 min!!!
The foreman goes to me "you know our computer costs $75,000 so everytime a car is hooked to it, its depreciating a little and thats why we have to charge you." I had a good laugh and left...lol.

So, do the lows (with error eliminators) work fine? If so, just leave the fogs off for a while.

i installed without the error eliminator for the low beams and nothing bad happened until i installed the fog lights... i'm thinking i should just put the error eliminators onto the fogs instead and see how that goes

alright everything works great! my fogs and low beams work ... low beams have the error eliminator and the fogs don't... the only problem i have is a check engine light... iono why it's on! any imput on what i should do? i'm thinking about just going to the dealer to get that checked up

If you're under warranty you should go to the dealership. There are hundreds of reasons the CEL can be on and no point in speculating.

Here are the pictures. They are all I have at the moment, but I can take more if you would like something specific.
They are the 55w 6000k DDM slim ballast kit. I am absolutely astounded at how great these are. They are in the stock halogen housings (H7 bulbs) with error eliminators. Also, just the low beams. One thing that I have noticed with these is that the cutoff goes up alot on the right (for signs and such), but just at dusk, highway signs light up amazingly.

i'm not suprised that the cutoff has gone up...nor that highway signs light[s] up
amazingly. based on the photos of your beam pattern post bulb mod, your
glare has skyrocketed as well. the bulb was never designed/calibrated for
your headlight dimensions, therefore the focal point has shifted. this induces
a change in beam pattern.
from the driver's point of view, they see 'better light' on the road. for drivers
on the road in front of you, this is seen as glare. with the increase in bright-
ness, inherent with HID, the glare can become a danger to others, especially
those on 2 wheels, ie ruining their night vision.
I've seen worse patterns though. someone posted on this forum, pics of their
results when fitting D2S kit into a taiwanese Depo headlight of projector
design. it was clearly the worst I've ever seen and I reposted the photo over
on HIDPLANET as an example of the dangers of HID modding w/o calibrating
or checking the results.

Autozone may (still) read your code for free, though code readers/resetting
devices are relatively inexpensive and a worthwhile investment. plug in to
your ODB port and read the Diagnostic Trouble Code. cross ref that to an
MB table which interprets the code and you can proceed to step 2. w/o
knowing the DTC, you may find yourself tilting at windmills

EVERYTHING IS A-OKAY NOW! WOOT!!! i have no error or anything... it all happened this morning! i turned on the car and to my surprise, i got no errors! so basically i am running only the eliminators on the lows and nothing on the fogs and seems to work perfectly fine!
thanks for all the help though you guys!

Dingleberry, I really wouldn't do this. The 55w kit like mine takes about 7 seconds to warm up. It's noticeably slower than OEM HIDs, and DDM told me that it was like this to not be hard on the car's electrical system so I'll take that trade off. These lights would be useless for high beams, IMO.

Yeah that video is from Scott.. I think he has the highest mileage 2005 C230 on this board at over 200,000.. anyway, I digress. I wouldn't do it personally but on his car it seems to work well! I think they're 35w, though. My 55w ones take noticeably longer to reach full brightness than the stock BI-X on my 135i.

I just got my kit in the mail. Once installed, I noticed one of the ballasts creating a buzzing noise with the lights on. Is that normal or is it a sign of a defective ballast?
Also, the error with the lights never came on without the error eliminators installed, but I put them in anyway. Does the error show up only when the car is running?

Both of mine buzz. They buzz more when you first fire them and they are warming up, and the sound decreases but does not go away. It's normal.

yea the "buzz" noise is normal
another reason why you don't want HID hi-beams is cuz they don't like to be flicked on and off repeatedly. They like to just turn on, warm up, and stay on. If you keep flashing them on and off they will burn out....or so I'm told
