Question Mirror LED Blinker cover broken

Hello
I've managed to break the plastic cover in my right hand mirror that covers the signal repeater LEDs. (Photo attached)

The LEDs themselves are fine and everything works perfect, it's just an aesthetics issue.

Is there a part number for this cover that I can order from my local dealer?

Many thanks.

As far as I know (everyone - feel free to correct me), you have to replace the entire light assembly, not just the covering.

If you go to your dealership, they can pull up the schematic to verify it.

Thanks. I'm gonna find out on thursday and update the thread for future reference. I still have the almost all the broken pieces.

Any suggestions for a good glue that I can get from HD or Lowes for clear plastic that I may be able to use to put them together?

I'm thinking the entire light assembly wouldn't probably be at least $60-$70 so I'm hoping to avoid it if possible.

That's a very good price! I assume it is not MB original, can you please take a high-res photo of it when you get it and post it here? I'd like to compare with my stock unit and if the quality is similar I'm gonna get one! It's more than fair at $25 + Shipping.

I too have a broken right side. My dealer quoted me a very large amount for replacement. Let's see how these turn out. Also, I have heard from multiple sources that if this isn't fixed we risk frying the very expensive electronics inside the mirror.

Is there any reason for a price difference??? The site says $24.71 for left and $25.02 for right.

I think FER is the company that makes the part for Mercedes just checked the tracking number will be here tomorrow i will take pics of them for you guys but it has to wait till after work i am supposed to get off at 4 but i have a crap load of work to do tomorrow preparing for black Friday so who knows when i will actually get to leave talk to you guys tomorrow.

EDIT
FER seems to be the manufacturer for all of the ones listed online so i am hopping it is a real Mercedes part.

FYI for anyone ordering from RMEuropean:

There is a discount code for 5% off. Enter FALL09 in the shopping cart. For me, it took the code but it did not apply any discount that I could see but who knows, maybe they will deduct it when it's shipped.

I'm ready to pull the trigger, just waiting for photos from samaritery tomorrow to seal the deal.

Hi,

Same thing happened to my 2005 C230 Kompressor recently.
I called my dealer and they said you could actually buy the individual LED BLINKER COVER, they gave me a price for about $40 a piece.
Try calling your dealer and seeing what they tell you for your model, the part number should be on the LED BLINKER COVER itself, if not you can describe it to them.

Good Luck!

Thanks I'm going in there for some warranty work on Thursday and will find out. If they ask for $40 for just the cover I'll order the whole thing for $25 from the above site. We'll see.

I actually noticed that all of their L and R parts have different prices.

Their OEM tags are accurate, so they are the right parts.

I too am buying my car some Turkey day presents... Mirror cover and wipers. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy!!!

It's very easy once you get over being afraid to fold the mirrors as far back as you need to. There's an excellent write-up here, just may take a little bit of search time for you to find it.

I can't bring myself to do it. So it is good that I don't have any issues with my repeaters.

Awesome photos! I'm going in for the kill tonight, they look exactly OEM and you're right, probably made by the same manufacturer.

For those of you who want these, I noticed their stock is depleted by 10 just since last night, and now only about ~30 or so left so better order soon if you don't wanna wit for back orders.

Thanks again for the photos!
