Weird error message

Weird error message
So I started my car today and wentto do a u-turn to exit my neighborhood. Since there's snow I thought I'd turn of my ESP to whip the car around so I don't have to back up and go forward again just as I get half way my lifts go out and this red error comes up saying something about an alternator. But it's there for like a second and then it went away and the lights came back. Is this a sign that my alternator is messed? I must add on a note that I had aftermarket hids installed. Any idea guys?
