Hole through firewall in C160 w203
Hi,
I am living in Norway and want to bild in some Interior heater in my car. In this case i need to have hole through firewall with at least 20 mm diameter. Is it there some existing hole, so i dont need to drill?
Best regards
Zoran

welcome to the forum, i didnt even know that a 160 version exists...
With its 120bhp 1.8-litre supercharged engine, the base model can sprint from 0-62mph in 11.4 seconds - which is 1.7 seconds slower than the C180 K.

Wow. I didn't know about the model either.
About the hole. I have heard that there is a hole on the driver's side near the front SAM. I don't know much about it, or if the side is different based on LHD or RHD. I'd search some of the threads about woofers.

Honestly, I have no clue. I remember reading about it in a subwoofer thread. That sounds right though, but I don't know if it's big enough.

yeah i can't remember how big it is either i was running my small xm antenna to the hood. it has a lot of insulation in their so it is hard to figure out. as for the op you open the fuse box on drivers side and it is down near the firewall and has insulation stuffed in it. it comes out about level with the steering wheel in the dash if i remember correctly.

How do they take a SC'd 1.8L and make it put out only 122 hp?
I bet a chip would do wonders in this thing....they've taken a reasonably fast engine and crippled it.
The must put a giant restriction in the intake to slow it down.....
I'm doin' 0-60 in 6 easy.
What kind of mileage do you get? (I keep saying we don't need Prius's and Smart cars to get good mileage....European carmakers already know how to get good mileage, just
don't bother to send those cars to the US.

there should be 5 pre exsiting holes by the passager side where the battery is. One hole is used by the oem wiring and the rest have corks. You can just push out the cork and use the hole. You can access it if you take out there passenager panel under the glove box.
here's a pic from my carputer thread to give you an idea. I basically ran my stereo wirings through thoses 5 holes.

if you take out the battery, you should see the red oem wire thats going through one of the 5 holes and you should be able to push out the corks from there.

confirmation re your helpful info
Hi,
Just wanted to confirm that these are the 5 corks you speak of.
From my car, i can see a strip of possible holes. From the bottom up it appears as theres 3 holes filled with a plastic plug with a disc backing then the two red wires take up the remaining holes making the " 5 corks". an additional 4 holes, plugged with thick rubber "corks" ensues above. What are they?
Are these all holes, just different plugs? Or are they different things?
Where do these holes lead? Can i simply pull out one of these corks and then feed wire into it freely? Again where does the wire lead.
Sorry for all the info and precise questions.
Many thanks.

Note. Image taken right behind battery on the mid right side. Thx
