Flat hood badge install help?

I just receive the flat hood emblem and im having a hard time trying to figure out how to put it on. I got my old emblem out with no problems at all but im stuck as to how this flat hood badge works. Does anyone have a DIY write up with pictures? I search but was only able to find a couple threads about it with no pictures. The nut that was provided doesnt tighten up all the way. Is it suppose to be like this?

i would say take the bolt off the bottom and the spacer thing off. drop it in the hole and put it back together have you tried it maybe it actually tightens enough and remember when in doubt use a bigger hammer.

The nut should thread/tighten until the black spanner bracket tucks up under hood hole to hold the base secure. Then press the badge and sleeves into the base from the top.

It's a lock nut so it will not thread easily. You will have to use a socket to tighten it all the way....If you really have to force it, then perhaps the threads are messed up and you may need to exchange it for an undamaged one...

You should have bought the genuine MB w204 flat emblem. It fits the w203, and just snaps in place with no bolts whatsoever. It's also cheaper than that fake e-bay stuff out there. I paid < $25 Canadian at the dealer.

Thats a pretty good website. Ive bought a few items from there and it worked out well. Fast shipping and pretty decent prices, The only thing is that their inventory isent as big as should be.
