Service b?
So my car is due for service b soon. I want to know what exactly is done on service b? Lets say my car doesnt have any other problems and service b is all that needs to be done? I know an oil change is on the list but what else? Im trying to see if its a lot of work and if i can do it myself. If i was to take it in to a certified mercedes shop or take it straight to mercedes whats the going rate for a job like service b?

they change the oil and check a bunch of stuff. Maybe change the cabin air filter. It's a lot of money for what you get. Check indy shops or just change your own.

If you are handy around cars you can do what i do. i take my car to my dealer they change the oil for $65 for 0w-40 and Mercedes filter. then i do the rest myself and end up way ahead. usually b service is like 350+ in my area it is major a is minor but is still around 250. most of you ask why i take it to the dealer mostly because it is cold outside and the HOA idiots are crazy if you do anything yourself!

Out Of Control!!
B basically is a cabin filter change plus the checking of more fluids and other items, such as wiper blades. (it does include checking the water of the battery, which is important)
If memory serves, someone posted a comprehensive of what "should" be checked out on every a or b service.

1. Put key in and turn it to the #2 position....do NOT start the car!
2. Scroll the menu button until the vehicle mileage shows
3. Use the "up and down" button until the "wrenches" show
4. Press and HOLD the trip reset button in for 10 seconds and then release it
5. Press and HOLD the trip reset button in for another 3 seconds and release it
6. Your vehicle service indicator should now be reset.
Let me know how it works out.
