How to replace side marker bulb?
My 2006 C280's right side marker light has gone and needs to replace
the bulb. From the user manual, it says that this is NOT a DIY job.
When I lie down to check how to access the bulb, I find it is
pretty difficult. Does any one have chance to replace the side
marker by yourself? or think it is too difficult as a DIY job?
Thanks.
I'd also tape the paint around where you're going to be prying, just for extra protection in case the screwdriver slips while you're prying.
Once the orange housing is popped out, connected only by the wire leading to the bulb/socket, just twist the socket thing a half turn and the bulb/socket will pop out of the orange housing. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket and replace with a 2825 bulb I believe.

Thanks very much for the replys.
I looks the orange cover and bumper cover at that area.
There has a 2.5 inch wide bumper cover in the middle of
whole bumer cover, which around the orange part
The 2 x 6 inch orange cover is embedded on this 2.5 inch bumber cover.
When you guy mention to pry out the orane cover,
do you mean to pry out
1): (2x6 inches) orange cover only? or
2): 2.5 inch bumber cover around the orange cover?
Thanks.

With your guys advice, I have replaced the side marker bulb in 20 minutes.
Pretty easys. Two very small spots of painting are damaged even though I use sveral layers of tapes around the painting area and flat screwdriver.
Thanks very much.

My dash warning light told me that a Side Marker Lamp was out.
I went to the Sylvania site, and they said there is no replacement bulb for this.
Checked my favorite MB parts house, and they wanted $18.45 for the whole assembly.
Did on online search, found this thread, followed Raw Shark's instructions, popped the housing out in about 20 seconds.
Pulled the bulb, got a replacment pair for $5, and dropped one in and put it back together in probably 30 seconds.
Easiest bulb change I've ever done. And without you guys, I probably would've waited 'till my next service to have my independent shop take care of it.
Thanks!
I wonder if your bulbs aren't burned out?
Mine's a 2006 - I don't know what changes may have been made to the lighting or the computer diagnosis in the intervening 5 years.
The bulbs are fine, I checked them. Now, based on where in the world you live, "parking lights" can mean a different thing. Do you mean the double flashing turn signal lights used for emergencies, etc. Or one stop before full headlights? In our car that would be the second stop (out of 3) in the clockwise direction.
In my part of the world, double-flashing turn signals are "Hazard" lights.
I didn't try that...
