10mm and 20mm spacers on my winter wheels...
Hey guys...
I never used spacers on any of my wheels...
But I recently decided to "refinish" my 17" double spoke AMG (winter setup).
I had a shop, refinish them, and paint them Matte Black (love it).
I had installed the wheels, but it looks retarded. It's all flushed in, and looks stupid, so I decided and ordered a set of spacers, 10mm front, 20mm rear. I was wondering...if I was to use the stock bolts, arn't they long enough to use? or do I need longer bolts?
best,
advans

For 20 mm, you obviously wouldn't get the minimum safe 7 turns out of your stock lug nuts, so longer lugs would be needed.
For the 10 MM, you can try it yourself if you can get 7 turns out of your stock lugs. I'd be happy to get 6 turns and just use your stock lugs.
I can't wait to see a widebody version of your C55 next year

I was actually just thinking about this today. Has anyone done spacers on stock wheels? Just to make them stick and look more aggressive? Or dumb idea?
Def. wanna see new pics of your setup.

Out Of Control!!
Longer bolts are always a good idea, imho, when you add spacers.
And one other benefit is that your pristine lug bolts for your summer wheels stay that way.

advans, i'm pretty sure you'll need new bolts with very close to 27mm (stock bolt shank length) + (whatever mm spacer width) shank length to be safe, although the c55 and c230 might have different bolts, so i could be wrong. i'd call phil at rad usa direct to be sure (888.rad.bolt). he helped me out with this subject before.

I was thinking about the 20mm H&R DRAs that bolt onto the hub so the stock lugbolts can be used.
Will the tire rub against the fender with this setup?
Advan, did you get the 20mm spacers yet?

I just bought some 5mm F and 12mm R spacers for my stock 07 wheels. I'll post pics when I put them on. i believe snail45 has 13mm spacers on the rear of his stockers and it looks great, although he's dropped on h&r's and it rubs a little.

^hey jim,
I got my 10mm spacers in the mail, and I need new bolts. So I didn't get to put them on yet. I ended up (just now) ordering a set of 10, 12x1.5 50mm bolts. and will be getting a set of 20mm spacers with NEWER lug bolts.
I've been thinking of buying a set of 35mm UUC spacers with bolts or maybe with studs?

right now, I'm on my winter setup, they are non-stag, 17x7.5 225/45/17 all around so they have some really bad offset.
I doubt C55 rears with 20mm would rub if you have rolled fenders. (btw, I can do it for you!).
I had the SL wheels on, with +32mm offset I was rubbing, then I rolled the fenders and it was fine!

look whos all about spacers ....i finally got my 15mm rear and 12mm front installed on my stock 17" wheels...i love the way they look, almost flush with body. i had to do a minor fender flaring in the rear, but its A ok now
