2006 Mercedes C230 P0327- Knock Sensor Help....
I just bought a OBDII Reader and plugged it in for the hell of it. The code P0327 Knock Sensor Low input came up. I've been searching the forums for the past 2 hours trying to find what is the function of this sensor and where can i buy it? I really need some knowledge about this whole knock sensor. What is the function? What causes the failure?, Where is it located? How hard is it to change and where can i buy it? Thanxs alot guys for any information.

There are 2 knock sensors on the M272 engine. One mounted on each bank. They detect preignition/detonation/pinging/knock in the combustion chamber, by whatever name you know it, & retard the timing to prevent engine damage. They are piezo electric & seldom fail. Check connections before replacement.
P0327 = Knock Sensor Bank 1 Circuit Low Input (Bank 1 by definition contains cylinder 1 which is RHS or passenger side in the US) Complete your profile - where are you?
They are cheap for the 2.5l

Yasmin, I am not ignoring you or your PMs etc. I am having unbelievable trouble with this website (only) after downloading a Vista service pack. Can't get into PM's, CP etc & seldom a thread. Sorry - finally got this one to open after days of trying.
I have never done a knock sensor on a M272 - only M112. The diagrams I've posted are the best I have. The M112 has one knock sensor on the inlet manifold & is easy. On the M272 quadcam heads I can't see where they have mounted them & what requires removal to get there.
Ask your mechanic to show you where they are mounted on each head & then decide whether the quotation sounds reasonable.
Will sort out your requests once I can access.
Good luck!
