c230 Sport coupe - CHICK CAR?

Hello,

I recently bought a 2003 c230 sport coupe (2 door) in magma red. I am a 21 year old straight male and I have suddenly become very concerned that my vehicle is a complete and utter chick car. I (and hopefully all other male c230 coupe owners on this forum) won't stand for this.

Websites like the one below aren't making me feel any better:
http://ca.askmen.com/top_10/cars_150/183_car_list.html

Is this true/not true your opinion?

I will admit, certain colors wil be worse. Since my color is basically a ferrari red, I think it looks pretty darn good. Ultimately, despite one expensive repair (transmission leak) I REALLY like the car. Good gas mileage. I am getting around 9.5L/100km.

The way it looks right now, I would say yes. It does look more like a girls car. But once you start modding it, I think you will lose that awful stomach feeling. There a few members on here that have modded their coups quite tastefully and red and black in my opinion always looks good.

Browse the forum a little and you will find some examples. Start with the picture thread.

A Mercedes Benz should usually not be modded , but it depends on the mods.

Only crappy cars like Honda civics should be modded, not decent cars like an MB or BMW.
Wow, I think I just wasted 5 minutes of my time trying to help a troll

In case you are not one, please do not overlook the word "tasteful"

I am probably the first person around here to ***** and moan when I see mods - ridiculous drops, oversized wheels with thin tires that ruin the ride, etc.
To be honest I think they look tacky / ricey more often than not.

BUT, having said that, I have seen some VERY nicely modded cars around here. I think there are some very nice TASTEFUL mods that can be done to make the coupe look a lot better, but personally it's very very hard for me to like the look of the W203 coupe in general.

You will notice that all the coupe owners are about to bash me....
It's nothing personal guys, just my own taste which may or may not suck!

You mean, it's nothing personal "GALS." Since it's an ugly chick car.

Just saying.

The above vehicle is OFFICIALLY for sale.

I hope you're kidding. How about you suck it up and drive it for a while? It probably takes more of a man to drive a chick car confidently, anyway. Who the hell cares what others think? You'll probably see a hater and never see him again.

You lost me. When a manufacturer, even MB, builds a car like the C230, do they put in the best engine, the best leather, the best stereo, etc? No of course not, it would drive the price above the market they intended for the vehicle. Some people actually want to make there cars better than stock. Just my opinion, I think the MB's come pretty great stock, but there is always room for improvement.

And no, your car is not a chick car, IMHO.

Thank you. Never say never? Applies here. You are right in that regard. Now all I have gone and done is **** everyone off! SOME mods I am OK with, let's put it that way.

My apologies to XsuperbeeX and kickR.

For the rocord, the only thing my car doesn't have is power seats. In fairness, that would have raised the proce considerably from base of course.

I bought a 4 door 2K6 Sport and I don't think it looks like a chick car. I really wanted a BMW X3... Not anymore.

See, that's what i don't get. I actually like the BMW X3 too. It's a total joke it's on this list to begin with. The fact that the VW Beetle is not on there makes me skeptical (not that i have anything against new bettle's, mind you).

Off topic, yes, but interesting.

Your car looks good, especially in that color. I think it would look great with a drop. Perhaps some Tein S-Techs I have for sale???

Seriously though, the coupe is not a chick car.

Is that the lighter metallic blue on your car? I really like that color too. THe only colors I don't really like are the lime green and the pewter metallic.

Just out of curiousity, what do these upgrades do?

Thanks. Its actually not as light as it appears in that heavily distorted picture - I'm working on a new signature pic as we speak...

Anyway, depending on what upgrades you decide on, the coupe can be totally transformed. I good set of springs, dampers, and swaybars can make your coupe out-corner most cars on the road. A pulley upgrade will give you about 30 bhp, and the list goes on...

So I looked at some more pictures of your car and realized that I really don't mind the mods on your vehicle because they seem to mostly internal. The mod's I usually don't like that much involve crazy external changes to cars. It seems both the colors we have look kind of crappy dirty but brilliant when clean. I guess thats the same with every car though.

Way off topic again.
