hey, just got my c32 amg. car has 79k on it. Battery wont hold a charge, even though it is a brand new battery in there. i have charged the battery and the car started. didnt start it for 24 hours, unpugged the seat control modules and now the car wont start. any tips? this is a pain.

i believe its under the car kinda by the oil pan... i could be wrong tho...

Do you know anyone with Mercedes DAS (STAR)? Maybe an independent Mercedes shop can check it for you. I know in DAS you can test the alternator.

I remember i bought a battery charger onetime from home depot.. it was pretty cool it checked the Alternator and voltage and all kind of crap.. I took it back after i put it to some use haha =P but it was well worth 50 dollars.

 

I know it all "sounds" like an alternator, but the car has a way to tell you if there is a problem with the charging system. If you're not getting a charging system error in the MFD, I'd be wary of changing what might be a perfectly good alternator.

 

yeah i would check the third control module that fails and runs your battery down along with the fan in the nav unit if you have one.

 

The C32 does not have a LIN Bus alternator, and cannot be checked via DAS.

 

Hey i got a idea call Mercedes road side assistance and see what the tech says the problem is. + he can give you a boost. and got to love the price the tech that came out to put in my battery was actually the shop manager so he knew a lot and i spent about an hour asking him questions on stuff but i did tip him.
