Ahh well i would waste my money on the kitt , i seen on like this in Best buy by motorola. And you have to have a bluetooth phone and it will play through youre car speakers. But thats it, Id rather wait for the uhi unit to go down a bit in price and do it right.

I believe the alpine has a mute wire but you would have to add a speaker to the phone kit for sound. Aftermarket nokia kit is the same as the S/E Kit. Alpine has a kit for a Nokia 6310i though made for their headunits.

When I bought my car, the previous owner had the same kit installed. Its wonderful and my SE phone syncs up perfectly. My remote is located next to the shifter.
Do you find that the speaker has a lot of static? Mine does, and I wonder if something isnt connected right, or if its blown

I've had it for a while now.....it works good. If you plan on buying the cable to mute your stereo, it would not work if you have a stock radio. It would work with most aftermarket radios, including alpine. Don't get me wrong, I think the MB car kit is great, but I don't like Verizon, and I personally like GSM phones. Having a cable just limits you to switching you phone. This is the next best thing to the stock car kit and a fraction of the $price. $300 installed.

2005 phone integration
After doing various searches, I still haven't found something that answers my question. I know several people here (Mikbox and mbenznl.com) offer different kits for integrating various phone models, provided cradles are available, in the C class...My questions is, when will the kits be out for the 2005 MOST interface? The kits available only work upto 2004. Any hope in the near future? How much will they cost, approximately?

Nothing MB related (sorry)
Our UHI kits for the 2005 W203s are about to be completed; however, Scorchie needs a car to test it on - preferably in the SF Bay area. Once the 'test install' has been done we will be able to offer the UHI kits.
Don't know what the price will be including shipment, that depends on what parts will be needed for the kit...

I wish I was in the SF bay area, so I could volunteer, but unfortunately, I'm far away in Toronto. Thanks again for the update

the kits will NOT support the v3 razor as the connector is not even a standard motorola connector. It's a mini USB connector. The K700 should be supported very very soon. The cradle has a part number but just waiting on Mercedes to release the cradle.

Hey Sunman! I see you beat me here.
Was just about to 'dive into the matter' and see if I could find a reply for HK... Oh well, thanks anyways.

Thank you very much scorchie and sunman
Is there a rough ballpark estimate as to how much it would cost, or how much do the current kits cost to fully integrate a phone in the 2005 c-class? That way, I can start saving right now. Will it be a DIY job, or will it require hard core labor? Thanks a lot for the responses, and whenever there's an update, please post in this thread, as I'm sure many 2005 c-class owners would be interested

also, the uhi cradles themselves for the particular phones are just plug and play right? and the cradles are too expensive themselves right? I also have a sony ericsson t616 that I may just use instead of the v600 for it or even both.

The V600 is not supported right now, and I don't know when or if it will be again. The other phone specs are listed now; of course, more come out occasionally so if you "keep waiting" you're just gonna make it more difficult. New cradles are around $200 (dollar depreciation... sigh).
T616 works well. T637 can be had for free right now if you sign up with Cingular or extend your contract.

what does the bluetooth in the car do then? if it doesn't link with the phone wirelessly, then what's its use other than making it more expensive? thanks!

I thought UHI kits were going to be around $800 - $900? Can anyone confirm? I also have a '05, with a v600, emailed steve, and they're working on it.

For some reason MB is still saying that the V710 phones will start shipping in early January.
The information they provided the dealership stated February, but MB is disputing that date and they maintain early January is the date.
The V600 phones are currently shipping.
