Red face Time For New Brakes?

I have a 2003 C230 sport coupe w/70000 miles & was told at my recent Service "B" that I would soon need new rear pads & rotors. I know that the pads have a sensor that will emit a warning signal when it's time to replace. Is there also an instrument panel warning light that does the same thing?

Thanks for any help!!

There is no sensor in the rear of these cars. Just replace the pads and rotors, it's as simple as that

Yeah no sensor at all in the rears so you will only know you need new brakes once you start hearing that metal on metal noise or you just know the life of your brakes. I had my rears done yesterday for $300 for OE parts.

Don't wait for the metal v metal sound. Just do a visual inspection of your pads and you'll be able to see how much you've got left. Also, run your finger along your rotor and feel for dishing or grooves. Best bet would be to replace them.

don't listen to this guy he doesn't know what he's talking about. Once you start seeing sparks when u apply ur brakes thats when you need to change them.

a quarter mile at a time
The ammount of sensors depens on year and what phase of the moon your car was built on. Visual inspection is always best to be sure.

Seeing sparks would mean you're paying attention to them in the rear and side view mirrors... Who uses those? can't this be like the late 80's when cars only had one or two of the three? lol
