Is it worth getting Xenon for my leased 230K?

I've noticed many people getting brighter lights for their coupes/sedans and all of'em look awesome as compared to the Before shots. My problem is that the coupe is leased until July 2005 and though there is plenty of time left to enjoy the ride, I don't know if it's worth changing the lights of all things. What do you think?

If you need brighter lights, but are questioning installing xenons on a leased car, you could always go with different halogen bulbs. MB-BOB did a comparo of the OEM H7 55W Low beams, 55W Philips Vision Plus, and 80W Philips Rallys:

light comparison

Thanks for referring me to that thread. It's very interesting and now adds to my dilemma ...do I go Xenon (remember car is leased) or should I just settle for 80W Philips Rallys or something higher in wattage considering the install is minor.

Thanks again.

my car's leased too but thats not stopping me from modifying my car... hehehe... but like trench said, you could always go with the brighter aftermarket halogens by philips if you don't want to go with the xenons...

do you mainly drive in the city, or the country. in the country, once you get used to xenons, everything else makes it seem as if you're driving blind. if you drive in the city, it won't make much difference other than the xenons look cool.

Mine is leased as well and I'd love to get Xenon's but i know my dealer is gonna give me hell about setting up on the computer. Thats why i havent been able to change the fuel settings for my pulley kit. Depends on how nice your dealer(s) are in the area.

If you keep them in good condition you could always sell them when you return your car...gotta love Ebay.

So just get the halogens, right? Is the install much, much easier for halogens and more importantly is it REAL noticeable as far as driving at nights? I saw Bob's analysis on it but it was flawed in that the shots were from different distances and shined against a bad place, no offense. However, as Bob noted the difference is noticeable to his eyes.

With the halogens you just replace the OEM bulbs with the brighter ones, it's pretty easy - should only take about five minutes. Installing xenons requires more mechanical expertise, plus you have to visit the dealer to have them reset the car's computer so they'll work normally.

Mines leased as well, however I plan on buying my car at the end of the lease so I will be doing a pulley, intercooler, hids, ect...here in the new future. If you are going to get a different car at the end of the lease I would just leave it stock. Drive it for what it is "a car" then with your next ride just make sure you get something you wanna keep. Then mod like crazy
