Where do you guys get your torx sockets?

I'd imagine I only need E10, E12, and E14. Are there any others I should grab for general working on the car stuff. I was hopping to do some work on the car today, but alas I didnt think ahead and they dont have them at my local auto parts store.

Sears, Matco, Snap-On, Harbor Freight, Leslie, they're all good. Autozone tends to have pro-tools and some stores even have rental programs where you can rent the tools for just a deposit and you get the money back after you return the tools.

Get a deep socket VIM Durston 11 piece set off of the internet. About $30. Then you can do everything. Their quality is fine for DIY work.

Edit - think I paid about $24 for mine

I checked the lowes site and there is nothing about female torx sockets on it.

I'm going later today to grab some sheet metal so maybe I can pull off a two for one.

Apologies to all! My recollection was incorrect. The male set is from Lowe's (Kobalt) and the female set is from Sears (Craftsman). I just pulled them out of the toolbox to verify. Sorry to mislead the forum.

Complete sets of EXTERNAL Torx covering all sizes you need on a Benz are not well catered for. The VIM is one of the few.

Harbor Freight has a female and male socket set in a blue case. The sockets go from 1/4 to 3/8. The male bits just need a screw driver that accepts bits.

I keep that in the car always. If you are going to do service in your interior, I recommend a set of screw drivers that are torx. some of those screws can be hard to get to, so you want a longer ish screw driver.

+1 and I have found that Autozone has a set that contained E8, E10, E12 and E14. I don't remember the cost, but it was very reasonable.

I always check craigslist, amazon, and ebay. If I need it right away, then definitely local hardware stores.

If replacing interior door handles, you need to remove the door cards, which requires #15 #20 #27. Just replaced the front passengers interior door handle today.... (Wife's 2005 C230K w/25,364 miles. Yeah I know, low mileage...we've been overseas a long time.)
