Questions
cw203- The Boost system will work with the C200 without any issues.
zimmer26- About $1000 installed, $899 for the system, less than 2 hours labor time.
buellwinkle- If you are suggesting that you can cut spring steel with a hacksaw blade you have obviously never played with a spring. Springs are wound with specific compression rates- made possible by the pitch of the wind. This pitch may change several times in the springs length. The ends of the spring are wound to fit the perches. If you cut a spring (with a grinder) it will never sit correctly in the perch. This is the seriously poor solution to lowering the car- buy lowering springs.

Kleemann, I'm not going to argue that cutting the springs is not the best idea but they showed this on one of the car shows like Hot Rod TV. They said to cut a small amount at a time and see what a difference it makes. I don't remember what they used to cut it but I thought it was a sawsall which is an electric hacksaw of sorts. Personally for $250 for four springs it wouldn't be worth the time and effort and I would want to keep the factory springs in case I wanted to go back to factory height. Ideally changing the springs is not the best way to lower the car anyway. They should have drop spindels or another means of lowering the car that preserve the suspension geometry and suspension travel.

lowering
Buellwinkle ARE U CRAZY it does not take an hour labor to lower a car especually a mercedes. i bought the H&R springs for my coupe and i called 6 different places and they all said that it takes 5-6 hours labor. Even RennTech told me that. 1 hour is un heard of.

It takes an hour PER spring, thus 4 hours. It is about the same amount of work to replace the struts as it is to just do the springs, sometimes its easier as you install the unit as a whole. To do just the spring you must take out the entire strut unit, compress the spring remove it, put the new spring on (compressed) and return it to the car. Even with no load on them the springs are under pressure, meaning compressed. If you dont have a proper spring compresser, dont try to half-*** it as you could really hurt yourself or something nearby when the spring breaks loose and shoots out.

Guess I was right about the cost, maybe in time the price will come down, i just wait. After market stuff will be more available at reduce cost, just to new of a car right now.

mach430 states,
Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but Kleemann products are sold at a fixed price, group buy or not. To get a 20% HP/Torque increase for only $899 is a great bargain already. And while some may think that $8000 is too much to spend on a supercharger, remember that you will get more power than a 430, for less cost.

In any case, I won't be cutting my springs any time soon! Ok, I won't even be getting a car anytime soon, but still. (Though I am kinda worried that the C7 wheels will look a bit strange without lowring the car a touch...)
