FM transmitter for iphone C240
My c240 has the standard head unit with the built in cassette player and the CD changer in the glove box.
Now to my question, I am wanting to use some way to hook up an iPhone to the stereo. In past vehicles there was usually an AUX connection on the head unit or I was able to use a cassette adapter to connect iphone/ipod.
Neither options for in this case.
Then i thought about buying a FM transmitter. While reading the owners manual, it says that "never operate radio transmitters equipped with a built in or attached antenna from the inside of the vehicle while the engine is running. Doing so could lead to a malfunction of the vehicle's electronics"
I was wondering if this applies to the ipod FM transmitters as well? Does anyone have any experience with using FM transmitters in this car?
What other options do i have if the FM transmitter is not a feasible way to go?
thanks in advance for your help

Sound quality is the best of all the FM transmitters I have tried so far. I have bought and returned at least 4.
Do not expect to use the hands free feature on this device, it does not work. I use an in ear blue tooth headset for that.

Thanks for the recommendation.
I think I'll give this a shot before the Aux-Cable DIY as the last resort.
I find the aux-cable as the last resort because it doesn't charge.. requires a wireless remote for comfort.. and buying an aux-cable as well. Troublesome.
My current belkin one has broken twice, but at least it has lifetime warranty. And right now the screen is still broken, but at least it works
Lifetime warranty is great, but it costs about $6 each time to send it back into the repair center
Thanks for the recommendation
Btw, can you post a photo of how it looks in your car?
You know how our cars cigarette lighter plug is sunken into the center console.. How does it look? Does it get in the way?

A clean install would be pretty sweet.
My current situation is the Belkin fm transmitter plugged into the rear cig outlet, and running the wire to the center console.
Cost of Aux-Cable + USB charger + aux-cable + time spent wiring it nicely to the center console
vs
GoGroove mounted in the front center console
Meh. I'll have to think about this one
So complicated.
I'm like at least 95% leaning towards the GoGroove just because it's easier.
Does the aux-in method even allow you to control music via steering wheel?
Works perfect even after 1 year of use.
You can tune it to any station freqs, so you'll always find an unused station that doesn't have static when you use your transmitter

Your car looks... different from mine

I have a cup holder where you have that sliding thing (where your gogroove is plugged in)
My cigarette lighter is where your coin holder would be.
Push and flip thingy under the center console, right side.
my cig lighter plug is closest to the driver seat, thats were its plugged into. then i have it going over the coin holder towards the passanger seat.
the way it sits, i can still slide open the console and use my cup holder just fine.
