If you can tell me how to fix my first problem, i can throw in a big sigh of relief
BTW, all the recalls and campaigns (according to an SA i went to 2 weeks ago) said were done on my vehicle, including the "$12 dollar hose replacement".

49K on my 2005 C230 SS Sedan. I'm having the following annoyances:
1) chirping from my heater blower when braking and the car slows down.
2) mustiness/moldy smell coming after shutting off the a/c and letting just regular, less-cool air flow thru.
3) occasional buzzing/rattle behind the steering column and/or underneath the instrument panel
4) rattle from the rear shelf when going over big bumps
5) COMAND doesn't recognize Nav DVD.
6) IR on driver's door handle doesn't recognize key, so command to open/close all windows doesn't work.
1, 2, 3, and 4 were all already mentioned to the dealership (still under warranty), and all had parts replaced by M-B, which I think were unrelated to the problem, but still, I got new parts . But the problems have resurfaced. Going to bring it back to them when I have some time. 5 happens about 30% of the time when starting up the car. 6- I'll see if some new batteries in the key fob will help or not.

Rough idle can be fouled plugs, maybe a TB problem (that's happened on here before). No CEL?

You can fix the door handle. Get some gorilla glue and dab it on there. Hold it back inplace for a few minutes and you are good to go. I did that on my wifes passenger door and its been fixed for over a year good as new.
never saw any thread like this before. but i was cleaning the inside of my car earlier and i was just soooooo getting annoyed at these things..
sunroof left
sunroof right
Driver side door panel
cant fix them coz its gonna cost me the whole sunroof assembly and the whole door panel to fix... ugh... dont wanna be impractical.. it still serves its purpose anyway..

I would describe it as a "purring" sounding kind of idle from the interior, keep in mind, it only happens at cold start ups and continues for 10-15 minutes. After that, it idles good on 600-650 rpms.

annoying things to fix? Stained carpet from prev owner, and the rattling in the right side of the dash that sound like the CC stalk but isnt and only goes away when you whack the dash.
Oh and the slow heavy feeling of the C230 which is only fixable with a C55, but its not manual like my 230 to FTL

I have another one to add. This one is really one of those "can't fix" annoyances.
The mirror that tilts down when I put it in reverse often doesn't return to position. It stops in various locations. Sometimes it stays aimed down. Sometimes it partially goes back to normal. I *could* turn it off and "fix" it but that's not really a fix. It helps. I'm just annoyed by how often it forgets what to do once I put it back in D.

I had rattles in my rear deck too and it bugged the heck out of me. This morning, I took all the stuff in my trunk (torx screw set, extra bulbs, nuts, bolts, etc) and guess what, no more rattles. Apparently, those stuff which are in the side compartments in the trunk are hitting the exposed body sheet metal thus making the noise.
Squeaking noise from my interior trim will be next to be dealt with.

I noticed that my passenger side mirror was seated funky after coming out of a restaurant a couple of months ago, so I assume someone brushed against it. I tried to reseat it, but it wouldn't sit perfectly flush against the rubber stripping that's at the base on the door, so I wanted to take a look inside to see if there was something our of place. I removed the mirror housing by following a post, but used a screwdriver for a "wedge" to depress the silver clip that snaps into the depression inside the housing and holds it on. I figured I would just go to the dealership and get another $3 clip. As you might expect, the clip is not available by itself...you have to purchase the entire motor housing assembly...honestly, I didn't even ask how much that would cost...has to be over $200 I'm guessing.
So for a couple of months now, I've avoided my car wash (the last time I went through, the guy had to go in and retrieve the housing from under one of the brushes). Now I'm worried that the housing is going to book off of the car on the interstate (that would be fun).
I've searched every parts resource I know. I'm on the verge of using duct tape (just kidding).
If anyone has an idea...I'm all ears.
P.S. The car wash I go to is totally soft and Benz-freindly. The manager sends his CLS through there all the time. I'm just saying that because I sense a carwash lecture looming.
Thanks

broken passenger door handle
dimming instrument panel
passanger mirror after reversing
not to mentions the other fixable annoying problems
seat controle module
crank position sensor
tail lights (bulbs) always needing replacement
alarm siren acting up
very expensive key replacements
I have told my self many times that I am going to get rid of the car, but never do. It has a horrible resell value and I can't see myself selling this nice looking car for that cheap. Besides- the motor is still very strong with 130k miles.

haha guess its just my car. I wash my car meticulously too. maybe its from the chemicals that are sprayed on the ground to melt the snow and ice in the winter. I brought it into a mercedes body shop and they said it was common to the w203's and quoted me 600 bucks per door to fix.

i've had my car since 03. since then, once or twice a week, i hear this ticking noise.....it increases in frequency as i speed up and decreases in frequency when i slow down....it sounds like it comes from below the shifter, like from the tranny/driveshaft tunnel area. i have never been able to replicate the sound for MB Techs when servicing my car (of course) and even when I had friends look at it, they had no clue. we all thought it was some kind of heat shielding or other material rubbing on the driveshaft...but when we looked, we couldnt find anything!
that noise still haunts my car today lol

I have a rattle somewhere in the driver side front area I cant seem to track down. Rough cold starts, after the initial startup it works just fine. ummmm . . . some douche hit me in the rear with his vespa and left a nice little dent and bolted hmmmmm . . . Other than that, kinda just need to have the front repainted my car runs perfectly fine
