I have recently purchased a 2000 C240 auto sedan with 81,000kls on the clock,I have been experiancing serious (dangerous) acceleration issues in the morning,it simply will not accelerate until it reaches 20-30ks or about 1500-1800 rpm, this problem only occurs in the morning and will continue even after the car has warmed up,if I go out at lunch time it is fine or if I go out at night it is fine.I have pulled over on my way to work, turned the car of and re started it and the problem still persists,to prove a theory the other day I did not take it to work and when I got home that evening I took it for a drive and it was fine, please help!!

Have you ever changed the fuel filter? Sounds to me it's the fuel filter.
How about the transmission? Have you ever changed the filter and transmission fluid?

Bottom line is it seems fuel related. It might be fuel filter or it might be dirty injectors. If you never changed the fuel filter I say now would be the time. The 45.00 US dollar fuel filter will save you from more trouble and even worse maybe even an accident.

The cold and hot might play a role in expanded gases. Maybe the gases in the fuel are expanded during warmer climate and feed fuel better. Or it might not even be due to climate, it might be in the morning lack of fuel being delivered and when you drive, stop, park then start car the fuel is still there.

As I said I have only recently purchased the car,so I have no idea how long ago the filters were changed, but I am still at a loss as to why it does not do it in the afternoon or after not having been driven all day.I am going to the dealer next week so I will pass this on,thanks Karo

Well one way to test it is, put the car in Park and press the gas. If you get the same result then it's for sure the fuel filter. Good Luck
Again the easiest way is to hookup Mercedes Diagnostics System (SDS) and see if you have any fault. The dealer should be able to figure it out. Keep us updated on how it goes.

Welcome
You need to systematically check all these issues:
The following all need to be completely as new.
-Clean air cleaners
-Spotless & operating to spec MAF
-Spotless & operating to spec Throttle Body
-Clean inlet system & no valve tulip deposits - 112s can get awfully fouled in inlet manifold & flaps
-Decent, clean, low mileage plugs
-Good plug wires
-Coil packs at required voltage with no earth flash overs.
-Perfect CPS
-Clean fuel filter (proper fuel delivery)
-Fuel pump & sensors up to spec so that that injectors see correct rail pressure. Fuel tank & systems in good order including EECS
-Clean and undamaged injectors
-Vacuum systems in good order with no leaks & no leaks on MAF or TB rubbers
-02 sensors cycling fast enough
-engine temperature sensor properly earthed & reading correctly for correct starting/running mixture
Of course engine in good nick with adequate and even compression. No leaking valves or stuck or damaged rings.
I am suspicious of your 02 sensors. They can cause this sort of stumble but so can many other things.
Are you sure that the car is not going into limp mode?? Could be why the problem rectifies itself on a reboot.
You need to get hold of an OBDII/CAN scanner & check for stored codes.
Good luck
Trey - SA & Aus saw W203's from 2000. This car could have been built in South Africa.
