need info on clear bras asap?

i just got the Carlsson RS front for my car and i dont want to mess it up with rock chips.

What is the best clear bra to get and where can i get them?

How hard are they to put on and do they really keep the front from getting damaged?

It will probably be really expensive for that sort of custom work. Most of these places have machine cut cutouts like the vinyl lettering places and I doubt the have a cutout already for your custom bumper. I just had the 3M done on my Chevy p/u for $140, he said the coupe would run about $585 because of all the pieces and curves. If you go to the 3M website they will give you a list of dealers in your area.

Erik,

We carry Stongard, but it would require a dealer to custom fit pieces to your new bumper... Are there any dealers in your area?

yep..hair dryer

You supposedly do this to get a corner off, then peel it off, then Goo Gone the adhesive.

Yes, it is removable. I would much rather replace pieces of Stongard every couple years, than paint and blend the front of the car. And the headlight pieces are cheap!

Sort of depends on the colour of the car. Seems to be more noticeable on lighter cars - I have white and it is alot more noticeable than those I have seen on black, silver and blue. But, I will live with a little bit of contrast to protect the front of the car.

Actually it should be the opposite. On black its most noticeable and on silver the least.

Oogle,

I have seen the stongard product on a dark grey suburban and different ones on a dark blue Honda CRV and a black MB at the dealer and they seemed alot less noticeable then on white. Maybe just my eyes. There was a picture someone posted way back on a silver E-class (I think) and it seemed less noticeable than white. Oh well, it really doesnt bother me too much. Really is noticeable when the car is dirty and there is dirt around the edges or in the areas where the edges did not lay down flat(most of those areas are in hidden areas though).

It noticable on some colors such as MB white and black. It really depends on the installers quality install and then which color you have and if you keep your ride clean or dirty. If the car is clean and you are stadning five feet away you shouldnt be able to see it.

The biggest thing you will see is the line on the hood, but if it stops damage do you care about that. I dont.

You can look at some colors here http://www.rockblocker.com/Colors.htm and see for yourself

i had it on my 2002 c230 and it was ok. i just recently bought a c320 and bought a regular car bra for it. i bought it from colgan car bras and it fits awesome. i would rather have this bra on there then the clear bra. one prob i had with the clear bra is the edges of the film would get dark because of road grime and then it was hard to keep it looking clean. this was my only b i t c h with it and at 700+ dollars it is not worth it to me. i will live with the other bra that looks like carbon fiber for 100 or so dollars.
