Cat is broken

there is a ticking and knocking noise all the time when i drive, the stealership quoted $1100 to replace it and install. my reaction =

so i want to just delete the cats and replace with straight pipe as that will be cheaper and i can get power.

who makes the cat delete pipes and o2 sims?

thanks

Quite a few:)
+1 on highflow cats.. honestly, the exhaust in your car is designed w/ a cat in mind/the wave pattern is tuned as such.. Magnaflow makes an Excellent and very reasonably priced product..

Not only will your exhaust be still working Ideally, and thus producing max HP, but you'll be 50 state legal to boot.

MF spuncast High Flow cats run about 125 FWIW.

+1 on replacing the cats. There is no reason to delete them, especially on a street car in this day and age.

Any exhaust shop can do it but I wouldn't recommend this. Just go to an exhaust shop and get a quote from there.

Agreed. Eight years and 80,000 miles in the USA, I believe. Change the cats if you need to to high flow. The reality is on the small V6 motors your cats flow more than you need as does your resonator which is straight through and no power is gained from removing it. How would you pass emissions in your state if you removed them? Your car is designed to perform with them in place for the performance of the car and for cleaning up of the environment as well. Please, do your part and help keep it clean. We will all be better off for it.

Magnaflow, random technology, catco all make high flow cats. All are reasonably priced compared to the OEM ones.
