2003 C240

C240 Shift Knob HELPP!

im thinking of getting a new shift knob for my c240. does it have to be a special type of knob to fit?
heres the one i was looking to get:

That looks good! - Well it has to fit, call them - They say it's universal but not how it attaches. If it's made for Benz it should fit fine.

By universal I believe they mean fit's most MB cars.

The chrome and exposed hex's may be a bit hard to match the interior, but that leather(?) piece up top should match ash pretty well. It'll grow on me.

Judging by the small base at the bottom of the knob, and the company's catalog, I believe it's a universal universal, not a universal Mercedes knob. Meaning it will have set screws at the bottom, and not work perfectly with Mercedes' overengineered system of attaching a simple shift knob.

The description by the tuning company is horribly worded.

Now, having said all that, you can still use the knob, but you'll have to figure out the transition from shift knob to boot to center console trim. There's always a trade-off if you're not going to go with something specifically designed for a Benz.
