Its as simple as that.




Anyway, I'm getting a full front, and both sides paint job done. Insurance is covering most of it and I'm paying the body shop guy a little extra to get rid of any rust spots etc. In a weeks time my coupe is going to look like a brand new car

Plus Im planning to pick up a pearl white 335is with DCT mid-2011 as my second car. Cant wait!

oh and smash the windshield is is in bad shape the dam thing won't crack tough but is pitted like no other.




While doing the work, the body shop guy also found a bunch of rust in the wheel arches, and behind the side skirts on both sides (on the actual frame..yikes!). So paid a bit more and got all that taken care of.
Car looks brand new!




After examining it, he decided not to use the machine to flush out the old tranny fluid because he was concerned that because the system has never been flushed, applying pressure might break any seals etc. and I agreed with him. So he dropped the pan and drained the fluid, then re-filled, let the engine runf or about 10-15 minutes to let the new fluid circulate through the torque converter and lines etc and flush out the old fluid, and then dropped the pan again and re-filled again with new fluid.
Im satisfied with the job even if it didnt flush out 100% of the old fluid. There is a noticeable difference in the shifts etc. Im planning to DIY drop the pan and re-fill new fluid every 30,000km here on which will save me the hassle of trying to empty out the torque converter etc.

The fluid used was Shell ATF 134
Before pouring the new fluid in, I verified that he was using the right fluid. The back of the container says that this is the approved fluid for the 7 speed (722.9) and also replaces the old 5 speed (722.6) tranny fluid.
Was this the right choice in fluid or should is there a better fluid I should use next time?




Its the middle of winter here, so no point cleaning it up and waxing etc., because its going to get dirty right away. Once spring rolls around, Ill clean her up and have some pics posted. It literally shimmers in the dark...




These pics were taken almost a year ago when my car was being re-sprayed after some a-hole decided to get drunk and scratch up my car on the front and both sides.
While sanding, the bodyshop found a bunch of rust. So I paid a little more and got the entire car de-rusted.
