Hopefully another MB soon..
Lightbulb Will this work for our cars?

Do our cars need error-cancelled lights when it comes to interior lights?

Is this set worth it? or will it not work...?

Dont need em.

The computer doesnt monitor interior lights and wont throw an error

HOWEVER the current cut-off on MB is +0.3 amps (as opposed to 0 amps) on other cars. 0.3 amps is not enough to illuminate a regular halogen bulb, but will illuminate an LED even if it will be very dim. What this means is that if you plan to replace the interior lights with LED's, when the switch is on, the LED's will glow, when the switch is off, the LED's will glow dim till the entire current is drained (about 5 min) after which it will switch off.

While driving on dark streets, the dim glow can actually be a hindrance. A simple fix is to install a very small resistor in parallel with the LED. Let me know if you are looking to do this and I will take some pictures of my install for you.

These resistors are available at any electronics store for about $0.5.

Well, this is pretty interesting. I got two pairs of leds for my licence plate and for the rear interior light.

None of them worked, the ones for the licence plate were blinking every 3 - 4 seconds, and in the interior , even if you turn off the light, they are still on but the light is very very low.

However, i think for that price (on that website) they should have built in resistors but .. you never know! You should ask them before buying

PS: Salut!

The license plate lights were blinking because the cars computer monitors those lights.

The interior lights just need a small resistor in parallel to drain the current when the switch is turned off, thereby removing the excess current and switching off the LEDs fully.

So only for the license plate you need error cancellors?

Usually the license plate leds for w203 have built in resistors.
For example, these:

(In the photo , you won't see any resistors)

And I really am interested, any help of yours would be gladly appreciated

Error cancelers for license plate lights (larger resistors)
Current drain resistors for interior lights (small resistors)

Both can be DIY'd but its much easier to buy the led's with error cancellers for the license plate lights because its a lot of work to remove the trim etc to install them.

The interior lights on the other hand are a super easy install, so no sense spending the extra on the led's with built in resistors.

If you want to change your license plate lights, do a good job, buy these:

Even if it's a little more expensive, it looks just... great!

On that link, its just the interior LED's. Sooooo, I just need help with that fading power thing with the interior LED bulbs. I'm going to buy the error cancelling LED's just for the license plate so I save myself some hassle

If you could just help me with that resistor thing so they turn off right away, instead of fading away like you said.. Thank you very much

Sure...Ill take a picture when Im in my car next to show you how to do the install...and ill read the resistance value. I remember researching it to find the ideal value that wont overheat and yet provide enough drain to remove the extra current asap.

Will it require soldering? or is it plug and play?
