OEM HORNS

I notice that the OEM horns are soft. Don't know either the cabin has good insulation or if the horns are soft.

Anyhoo, any pointers of what is a good replacement. I saw some at Pepboys but the OEM seems to be made by bosch. Would the aftermarket ones work the same?

well.. the horn isn't designed to warn the driver or occupants within the vehicles that honking... trying standing from a distance preferablly infront of the car and test the horn. Most OEM horns are perfectly fine.

I have jumped several times after standing in front of my car and someone would honk the horn at me just to mess around. I think it's plenty loud. Though a deeper tone would be nice. I know in Europe and Asia, most of the horn pitches are quite high, but here in the U.S., most are deeper. Friends have told me it's girly. lol

But! I don't know what kind of connector is on the horn. If it's a universal plug, it'd work out nice. You could put on one of those train horns.

THE C350
Open your hood the horns are right there. There are two and it looks like a very simple connector. two prongs so i guess when you apply your horn it puts 12 volts to the wires so seems simple enough to change it out if you really wanted to. My horn gets a lot of respect it is very loud and if you cut me off or try to run into me you will get it lol

One of them probably burned out if the horns are really quiet, but just a crazy though. Perhaps a bug is lodged inside? They always end up in the craziest places.. inside lights, inside shoes, stomachs..

Hmmz.. I'll check it out. Thanks for the suggestions guys!

Yea, there were some people who ignore me on a few occassions and whenever i press the horn, it seems there is no response or I hear a soft beep.

Seriously, people around my parks just don't give me the respect when I drive my C. I have a work truck and I don't have any problem with that car. I don't know, perhaps they think mercedes drives slow and they tend to try going faster than me?

But the funny thing is, as soon as they did what they did, after I put some peddaling they were amazed by just reading my license plate. But then again, I am not in to speed but the luxury smoothness of the car.

Horns should be plenty loud enough! Check them out. Mine would wake the dead close up. These cars do have well damped cabins but with the door open they should be loud!

Mine were really low also when I bought the car. I ended up buying some Hella supertone replacements. Sounds much better than it did before.

you have to understand i dont think they ignore you lol. I honestly dont think horns work to warn anyone but pedestrians are people who have there windows down. If a person is driving a car with the windows up and radio on no matter how loud...you can barely hear a person honking at u.
