help with temperature displaying inside temp...?
Other than the fading issue, my display has been acting normally for quite some time now (years). I wound up not driving her at all last week. Didn't notice (look at) the temp display on the way into work this morning, but at lunch time I had the A/C on and noticed the temp display said 75F. It's been 105~110 F here for the past couple weeks, and today is no exception. The first thought to cross my mind was that the display somehow got set to show the inside temp (vs. outside temp). Went thru the menu and couldn't find an option for inside temp, only outside temp or speed. I switched to speed and the display showed the speed properly. Switched back to 'outside temp' and again it showed 75F. Sooo, either I'm missing something in the settings, or the display is showing the inside temp, or possibly the outside temp sensor went bad? Any ideas or suggestions? Can anyone tell me where the outside temp sensor is located? Thanks in advance!

Try the thermostat connection plug by your front bumper
Mine was loose and always said 135* before i took off the bumper to repaint some rock chips and noticed it was loose. Should be by the pass foglight.

It's odd because the car never did this until within the past couple of months but now it is repeatable. And also because all my other cars with outside temp indicators didn't suffer the same. It's "odd". Not a big deal or anything that concerns me.

I think Matt may have hit on something - I forgot to mention I ran my car thru the car wash yesterday at the beginning of the lunch hour. Didn't notice the display until I was heading back to work (went to the grocery store after the wash to get a sandwich first). when I got back in the car after work all appeared fine (115F, down to 111F by the time I got home). I wonder if rather than a short happenning, maybe there was some water on/near the sensor causing an evaporative cooling effect to happen (we use swamp coolers out here in the desert)? Then again, 75F is pretty cool when it's 110+ out. Nevertheless, I believe the car wash was the contributing factor...

It doesn't get quite that hot here in GA, but my car was reading 103F today. Then after a wash, 77F for about 10 minutes before it rapidly climbed to 98F. It's the car wash.
