problem is its not gonna add enough hp on the m271 to be worth the cash (as usual)...but we'll see he hasn't responded in a lil minute.

I can comment on the first question, Hooleyboy/MBH Motorsports has it's own Exhaust guy he works with to design and manufacture each of these headers to perfection. You will be hard pressed to see better welds/quality/craftmanship than this product.

Thanks for the nice comments. This just about sums it up.
To add..We make everything in house. We buy all our steel locally, we sub out only the cutting of the flange to the shop next door. We now have a team of 5 welders and fabricators that make these headers from hand. Our lead fabricator is a former IRL (aka INDY) team fabricator. We also do 100% custom work. If you dont see it or can't find it, we can make it.
We pride ourselves in customer service. In the unfortunate event that something does go wrong, we are always ready to help make the situation right. Or if you have a question some one is always available to talk with just about 7 days a week. We have 6 people on site that are proficient in installing, removing, and troubleshooting. That are willing and ready to help you make some power. Or if you just have a tech question we have the answers for those too.

If you are now employing 5 welders, that is impressive. Good welders cost a pretty penny.
Yep, we are just waiting on price. Supersprint header was some $1,200. They ended up with product sitting on the shelf. So, I'm curious what these will cost in the down economy.
Not trying to say it won't work, I'm glad someone is doing something for the Coupe! However, I thought Renntech was no longer offering the ECU tune?
May I suggest working on the issue of running lean in the M111 under WOT?

Yup, pretty much this is a joke.
If this ever does emerge, applications will be limited and likely have a terrible cost to gains comparison, unless MBH motorsports responds so we can move on.
Oh well...

My headers were a "bend over..so I can give it to you" but in the end I found out I have a broken engine mount which I guess might have saved me from a lot more headache down the road (atleast that's how I look at it so I don't feel bad) loooool
I'm waiting for Jeremy from OETuning.com to come back from East Coast so we can tune the car. I want to get some numbers

I'd develop and header for any Mercedes as long as its worth my investment. As for the SRT-6. I'm put an open offer out a while back to Evan (cruzinquick). He a local drag racing friend, but he wanted to keep his exhaust stock. Back when I had my C55 he would bow me out of the water, until I supercharged it.
Really though it comes down to getting a car and owner willing to have headers made. So let me put out the offer. If you have a W203 V6 and are willing to travel to the Phoenix area or are in the Phoenix area. I will cut you a smoking deal on making a set of long tube headers. PM me if you are interested.
EDIT: or SRT-6

Cruzinquick is selling his car. Really sad if you ask me. I'm in Puerto Rico so it's impossible for me. I know of one other owner in Arizona and I'll send him a link. Maybe he'll go for it.

I was talking with him last night, He busted out the sad news. In all honestly he is such a good racer: member of the Arizona Drag Racing Association. For him to run high 11's is a waste of his talent. His R/T is like .00x every time. He is going to be racing a 55 BelAir. This is no joke, his house is full of racing trophies that soon he is going to need a storage unit to store them.

All respect for your participation in this forum. $1,300? Good luck with that. This economy, a chassis this old? I don't see it happening.
Keep living on Gum Drop Lane. Your chances of selling 2 dozen in a year are nil.
I have had a friend get a custom exhaust for a Prelude Motor that was installed on an X1/9. Custom everything, Price reflected the effort and the work done to make the header work within the power band required. Price.....$2,300.
I hope it sells. I'm not a buyer at that price. Make me put my money where my mouth is. Come up with a better price.

I agree.. too much. But in his defense he did post the price in his other thread and almost immediately - you guys just overlooked it. Glad to see the engine clarification. I think the M271 and M272 cars easily outnumber the M111s on this forum.. combined with the values of the old coupes and the low numbers of them to begin with I'd say this will be a sales failure.

This header doesn't have to succeed on a production level. We make custom headers, when a customer comes to us. We offer it to the public as a biproduct of a custom job. On a market that is just about unsupported. If you want stuff made in China we are not the company to do that. The labor involved to make any of our headers is extensive. We use the best materials and outstanding fabricators. Please note: I'm not really here in this subforum to try and sell a header, but more so to let you know we have built and tested one. Sharing with you the results. If you want it, its available. If not that cool too.

Its very hard to tell without testing. It would be foolish to make any claims at this point. I've never been good at making predictions of power when it comes to my headers. When I set out to make headers I thought they would make 30whp on a 55K AMG. They ended up making almost 50whp. Then If say it will make xx whp and it doesn't, then where am I?
One thing is, we take into consideration is the specs of the engine. When I receive the motor specs, we use a computer program to help get an optimal design. With the aid of that, we will suck out the most power we can. What that is at this point is unknown.

Sorry to come off as a pessimist but the initial posting boasted considerable improvements but was in a cloud of vagueness regarding not only the applications this would available to but also which gains resulted from the header alone (dyno with header alone, not a plethora of auxiliary tuning enhancements (i.e. icu, pulley, etc)).
Like others have said, I think you'd find significant interest in a reasonably priced M271 header, given its reasonably priced and has clearly documented gains.
We all appreciate anybody taking on this otherwise ignored segment!

Sorry but personally, I wouldnt buy from a shop that doesnt know Mercedes well. I dont know what kind of experience you guys have with Mercedes in general but judging from words like "whatever engine a 230 coupe has" tells me you dont know a lot about Mercedes.
I'd stick with a company that knows an M271 from an M111 etc etc.
No disrespect as I'm sure your company is skilled and has the knowledge to make a good product for a variety of cars but nothing beats an expert that specializes in one thing, ie, german car tuning companies like Kleeman etc.

03 g35 coupe...........02 c32 Sold
hooleyboy was the pioneer when it comes to a C55. He was one first one to successfully install and tune a e55 sc into a stock c55 engine. So i'm pretty confident they know what there doing when it comes to tuning mercedes.
