Service A and B: This is what is done.
I got my hands on a pamphlet from MB of Orlando. I thought I could answer some questions for the newcomers who see, "Service A due in x days.", on their dash.
Service A for the C-Class:
- Change Engine Oil and Oil Filter with Mobil 1 Synthetic Motor Oil
- Complete inspection of Brake System
- Inspect + Top off fluid levels
- Midtronics Battery test
- Inspect Chassis as necessary
- Reset Flexible Service System (FSS) Indicator
- Inspect belts and hoses
- Inspect air filter
- Check air pressure, tire wear, and condition
- Wash and vacuum vehicle
Starting at $279.95
Service B for the C-Class:
- Change Engine Oil and Oil Filter with Mobil 1 Synthetic Motor Oil
- Replace Windshield Wiper Blades
- Lubricate latches and hinges
- Inspect and top off fluid levels
- Function test heating and A/C system
- Replace Cabin A/C Filter
- Check horn operation and inspect windshield
- Rotate tires as required - check tire wear and air pressure
- Complete inspection of Brake System
- Inspection of undercarriage and engine compartment
- Inspect air filter
- Inspect fuel and vapor system connections
- Inspect belts and hoses
- Inspect exhaust system
- Reset Flexible Service System (FSS) Indicator
- Midtronics Battery Test
- Scan engine computer and clear codes
- Wash and vacuum vehicle
Starting at $599.99
Honestly, I find most of these things are space fillers. On paper, it looks like a great deal because there's so much being done, but for the love of god, are you telling me you cannot inspect if your horn is working?
I can just imagine these idiots. One of them stands at the front of the car. One sits in the driver's seat. *HONK!* "Yeah, it works!"
Basically, it's changing your oil, a few filters here and there, topping off your fluids, etc. Mostly small things that you can save money on by doing yourself.
Cheers.

ya its pathetic really...no where near 600 bux for service B...mine is due in 26 days and I'm not doing any of it except maybe top off my own fluids lol...had the oil done 3k miles ago and my brake pads have less than 10k on them including rotors...horn works fine, used it today
...and i'll know when my belt starts to go bad i think if not I'll simply ask someone to take a peak at it next time its in the shop haha...what a rip off MB is man.

I recall reading from the owner's documents, there is a section about services. I think varies depends on the mileage you are at. It's not the same Service A or B. Each time as depends on the year and miles driven will varies the service.
But I guess what you stated are a typical Service A or B. But year that is why they are know as stealership.

I have to take my car in for a service B in about 10 days but I've done most of that stuff already, I just got an oil change, brand new brake pads, changing the cabin air filter this evening, I'll do the fluids myself. I'm only getting this done if it's $150.00 or less. Question, I ordered the cabin air filter from Amazon, do you guys know if it's two that comes in the pack or do I need to make another order. At the shop today the mechanic said I need to change my filters and that it's $60.00. I asked "filters'? He said yeah there are two of them.

It is only pathetic and a waste of money if you *actually* do the work yourself instead of just changing the oil and being done with it. For example, I just completed the yearly service on my daughter's C320. It takes me about 4 hours to do everything. Part of that is checking the air pressure of the spare. It was 15psi.... So yeah, paying the dealer all that money for things you could do yourself is ridiculous but only if you actually do all those things yourself.
KeanBurke: The filters for the engine air intake come as a pair and should be about $30 for the OEM Mann filters. I'm not sure there is an easier thing to do on the car. The cabin air filter, however, is a single filter and is in an enclosure near the battery/firewall on the passengers side.
Note to all... Your MB requires a specific oil and specific oil filter. You only have to change the oil about once a year but if an oil change place puts in a paper filter (and yes, they do) then it is likely the filter will be useless way before it is changed again. Mobil 1 0W40 and the Mann fleece filter.

Yes, my bad... I've forgotten that the M111/M271 has a different filter (I'll admit to avoiding that engine altogether). I do worry about the same thing happening for the V6s so when RMEuropean was running a sale the other day and I stocked up. Will be adding another M272 or M112 to the family in the next year. That'll make 5
It is getting to the point where the local indy is borrowing stuff from me.

2021 GLE 53 AMG Coupe
In the process of purchasing a 2021 GLE53 (picking it up tomorrow).
They are offering me to pre-purchase two services (assuming A & B), for ~$1499. Is this a good price?
Can someone point to where pricing can be found. Tried Google but did not really find anything specific to the GLE53.
Thanks in advance.

Neuro,
guess you already bought it, but my .02:
First - never assume
Especially with the dealer...
I'd call a couple other dealers in the area and inquire about the cost of each service.
Don't know if the online service registration system provides the prices also.
