2002 C230 Coupe
alias747's 2002 C230 Coupe C7 (Custom Stereo Install)

Hey guys!

I just joined the forums about a week ago when I was looking into buying a C230. Well I ended up calling her my own and I am certainly glad I did! It was a 1 owner car with every single maintenance record from when it rolled off the lot. This guy kept meticulous care of this car! Only 64k miles too which is pretty low for the year. Runs and drives like a top. Hopefully will do a few mods coming up, especially HIDs. Eventually some performance like pulley and tuning, but not right away.

I got some requests from members for me to post some pics, so I thought I would share with everyone! I know, you have all seen a stock C230 coupe before, but I really want to highlight the custom stereo install! It includes:

McIntosh Head Unit
McIntosh 4 Channel Amp
AudioControl Equlizer
Boston Acouctics front speakers in custom kick panels
Sub in trunk when spare tire was (hidden, and not sure of brand off hand)

Sorry for the dirty pics... I need to vacuum her out!

Doesn't that speaker by the deadpedal get in the way?

I like the amp build in the hatch.

Yeah Tommy, that may be the only flaw about it, its not bad at all though. I have just gotten used to resting my foot under the pedal a little bit. I works fine, just gotta get acclimated.

You should change that mounting kit for the head unit man....get the Scosche single DIN one...that way youll have a little cubby hole at the bottom to store stuff in...and itll look more flush.

More flush? I think it is flush already. I don't plan on messing with the stereo at all. The guy had it it tuned in perfectly so it sounds great and I think the install looks amazing, maybe the pictures don't show it very well I guess. Thanks for the advice though.

Check out this pic of my AVIC install..

Now just imagine your Mcintosh unit occupying only the top half and a cubby hole at the bottom half. Thats what I mean by more flush...

But hey if youre happy with it as is...thats all matters! Awesome system though.

I see what you are saying now. I personally hate cubby holes in the dash of any car, so when I saw that this guy had removed it I liked it even more! haha Maybe thats why I don't understand peoples thinking in wanting one. I just never use them and so I think they look tacky, but thats just me.

nicely done!

thats one clean looking trunk.

the speakers in the front look great... however, i'd probably be stepping all over it with my big feet.

keep up the good work!
