Hey Mleskovar (or any others for that matter), do you happen to have the info for biasing the lcd? If the company was able to give you info on which pin needed to be re-biased and what rating it should be brought to then I may order the lcd and give it a shot.

The european one was also not perfect. It was alot better than the chinese one but I wanted to make it perfect. Anyways, it never happened and I lost the urge to do it.

I feel ya. There is no such thing as perfect though. Even when you get it at the dealership, it's not perfect. It just dies in a few years, just like the problem we had first.

I used to have that flame to get things perfect. After finding more flaws than I can fix, I gave up making it perfect. Speaking of flaws, I still haven't resolve the enginee noise I am getting. There is always the front tires outside corners going bald.

Installed the euro replacement one and it's definitely better than the old burnt-out oem one, but yeah its not perfect. I have a very faint line across the center, you don't really notice unless you really look for it, but its still dumb. Oh well, can't expect perfection I suppose, price was right tho too, only $150 for one of these that is actually brighter and has no issues with heat is a decent deal.

I will wait for someone to try and change the led bulbs too and see the result hehe.. But looks like the replacement has some bluish coating or tint on the lcd. Does it affect anything when you look at it?

Really? Cause I was looking around at LCD display units, on such sites
as Allied electronics, and monochrome small ones (but they do not have the right one, pixel WxL etc) are like $15.

I think that company in Europe is still getting those things from
whatever manufacturer from whatever 3rd world semiconductor plant for
a song and reselling them for a 500% profit.

I'm lucky. My screen still works, but it has been spotty since I put in the stupid AMG surround off ebay, the metal heats up the sides, and it blotts out.

Really? Mine didn't do that (though I didn't put the AMG sticker on, you poseur ).

You really are lucky. I'm still happy with the replacement one I got off ebay for $135 or so from a wreck (and got a new cluster surround to boot to replace my original, molto-scratched up one); this will be my second summer with it, and it looks great so far.

The problem is that the benz one is proprietary, so regardless it's going to cost a lot to replace, most places would have to custom make it, and they probably wouldn't even bother

And yeah I presume that's what the place in Italy does (mark them up). Oh well the lady was really nice and the service was amazing, I received it in just under a weeks time. Either way, being 95% satisfied is sufficient enough for me.

Well, I don't exactly have the AMG sticker.
I forget how but the sticker got wet, and when I applied it, it just
left the adhesive from the letters, not the actual letter, so it's kinda
faint.

Thank you for the tip on the Italian display

The display works like a champ....no problems. The only draw back is if you wear polarized glasses the display is not very clear. But otherwise it is bright and crystal clear in searing heat. No hiccups........ Thanks again.

Reviews of the Minitools lcd's? Well I was the member who did the group buy for them awhile back. They are great screens but I will say they look to be just a tad bit lower resolution. Most probably wouldn't notice but it is something I noticed but have gotten use to. Secondly if you wear polarized sun glasses you can't see them.
Now that you made me think about them again I realized I still have an extra from the group buy guess I should sell it.

I just came across my unused LCD screen from the group buy Trey put together. It is still in the sealed package. Sticker says Savi Elettronica srl SEPDISP06, W203 Mercedes Adaptable Display.

I'll take what I paid for it. $66. Trey, can you confirm that was the purchase price?

I wish you would have found it a couple of weeks ago. I just replaced mine with an LCD I picked up on ebay. It actually works quite well with no malfunctions. The only thing is that the background appears a bit too lit but I'm perfectly happy with it. It also states that it works with polarized sunglasses but since I lost mine, I haven't been able to confirm.

If anyone else needs one after SeaCoupe sells his, the one I got can be found here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231151728161?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
