Well someone had to try it. Traded my 2002 Magma red Coupe 6 speed, sunroof, C7 package, for 2003 C320, Magma Red, Auto, leather and yes C7 (only came with the 6 speed in 2003) and C5 Package. Well let you know how it compares to my 2002. The increase in power will be a change.

Very curious about your results. Also, what kind of depreciation does the 230 have? We've thought about trading our 230 (<1k miles on it) for a 320 but are afraid of losing thousands of dollars; might be best to stick it out a couple years?

Congrats on the C320! If it's a trade-in, did you have to drop of your car now? That would suck; you'd have to live without the Coupe for a few months? Or is it on the lot already?

They have discounted the C320, was 34k got it for 29K, the C230 has taken a drop, but I can take the hit now or later. My wife has trouble driving the stick so thought get auto might as well get the 5.

Congrats, C230K!

29k for a 320 sounds like a great deal, let us know how it handles going into a corner (now that the front is slightly heaviler). Any plans on upgrading it yet?

Thanks for the words, will give a full report. The C320 will have the tinted windows, red calibers, AMG spoiler, and the black grill. Will leave engine mods to you young ones, guess i did it for so long when I was younger it;s kind of wore off. But will try auto-x, the C230 was great except first gear is so sort and most courses second gear is what you run, so the auto might do ok. The best thing is that NOW the Auto can have the C7 package, which is the best add on value. Stay tuned.

I recently considered the same upgrade, glad to see you got a nice deal on the 320. Mind me asking what kind of hit you took on the 230 because my dealer didn't even return my inquiry regarding this and I'm thinking its either because the loss is so big that he figures I'd laugh at him or call MB a bunch of crooks or that he just doesn't have any 320s in manual available.

Is it possible to trade in a leased 2002 c230 for a 240 or a 320? I realize 230 owns them but no one seems to like the 2 doors except me.

I got 20k and save 1.8k on taxes (trade in value) and paid 29.300.00 for the C320. I know you have to take a hit, but it was now or later and hell i have won and lost that much in stock in one day. At least my wife is happy with the auto and will let you know on the 6.

Yes, but you will probably lose much more than those who own their cars. Find out what your payoff is. Then go to the dealer and see how much they will give you for your car. Anything in between these two numbers is what you have to pay. And once you get this far, you are still without a car. All you have done so far is buy yourself out of your lease and give it to the dealer. Then you have to start making payments on the new one. It's probably not worth it at all.

That's not too bad. The deal you got on the 320 made up for the loss pretty much and you did get the tax savings so that was really pretty good for you overall- nice work and good luck with the upgraded coupe.
