Buying a used C200K. What to check for?
Hi guys,
I'm from Bombay, India and i've recently finalized a deal to purchase a used W203 from a local dealer.
It's a white coloured kompressor AT (classic trim) run 22,500kms. June 2005 make. Service history is clean. AC compressor has been replaced once at approx 15,000kms.
Now what are the things i should check out for? What are the parts that are prone to failure at this time of the car's life? Dealer says the car is clean, but i want to double check.
The thing is, in India, mercs are sold at double the cost due to duties (180% duty). Even spares, etc are prohibitively expensive. The dealer gives a warrantee of six months on gearbox and engine only. Before taking delivery of the car, i can tell him to fix anything, which he is obligated to do.
Also, can anyone list the accessories, etc that come standard with the car. eg: medical kits, warning triangles, etc.
A prompt response would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Check camshaft sensors on front of engine for oil leaks into the wiring harness. Common problem - make them fit pigtales. Accessories are market dependent/specific. Read the owners manual as soon as you get the car. Minimum s/b Owners manual, service manual, dealer locations, radio etc fitted to vehicle, medical kit, warning triangles in bootlid, 2 X keys. (before someone argues with me - I know some US cars did not have the warning triangles. Indian cars did.)
