No way for aftermarket Head Unit with BOSE System
So im extremely frustrated now. I was so amped to finally have ipod integration and full control of my system. I had a kenwood head unit that i would be using for this project. So i ordered the single din and the wiring harness for the 02 c230 coupe. I opened up everything and shocker only one of the harnesses coming out of the car fits, and the pins dont even line up. So i mustve ordered the wrong wiring harness...WRONG. I ordered the Metra part 70-941 which was told to me by some forumers that it would fit the car and they personally use it themselves. Funny, the metra part had the same exact pin line up and again it did not fit the car. I called the tech support and they tell me if i have Bose system then the only way to put an aftermarket HU is to bypass the amp. I would do it myself but im sure its extremely complicated. SO this is my last try. IS THERE ANY WAY TO FIT AN AFTERMARKET HU IN MY CAR?

have you read through the DYI thread for the HU install https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ts-images.html I beleve theres a couple of wire diagrams in there showing what goes where.

Do you have the Bose emblems on your speakers?

Maybe Im not seeing this right, but the car harness that he has plugged into the HU harness (bottom plastic piece in pic) has 4 wires (green/black, red, yellow/black, black) and 1 brown (ground) for the 4 speakers.
Again...I could be wrong...but if this is just a different layout for speaker wire arrangement, he should be able to make it work with some jerry rigging.

if you see here (pic below stolen from javvys thread) the tan harness are speaker wires usually a twisted bundle with matching colors for -.+ leads..
but no worries I gave him all the info he need in the coupe forum
