Is My Car Missing Something?

I noticed that most other facelift w203's have a little black antenna on the rear glass, I have a small white one on the roof. What is the black one for? My car does have fuctioning radio and nothing is wrong with sat. radio. What's wrong here?

Btw sorry for the kidish colors lol

Nah I have a normal Audio20 with the Harmon Kardon. Does it affect me because I know my car is one of the "prewired" cars for phone.

The black antenna on the rear glass is for telephone/teleaid. The radio antennas are incorporated into the rear glass (3 FM and 2 AM to my knowledge). The satellite radio antenna for most years is on the rear trunk lid (it won't be installed if you do not have sat radio).

I see what you're saying, now my question is I want a roof spoiler, but all that I have seen have the cutout for the antenna.

Hey capt_paul I was looking at your photos and the antenna you have on your trunk is what I have on my roof.

Id venture a bet thats for sat radio, you can get that with audio 20, so It be my guess, you lack the rear one because your not telephone pre wired.

For some reason, I think the roof looks like a better place for installation than the trunk lid.

I found it funny that you said that the antennae either "fell of somewhere or some idiot pulled it off"

Because that's exactly what I would've said too if my antennae just disappeared one day.

If you said that your radio, sat radio still works..
and I assume you didn't have the phone capability...

Then there's nothing to really worry about, unless you're planning on installing the phone. Then there's moot you can do about it aside from buying the antennae again

That little brick looks kinda' funny imo. But then again, these shorty antennae look funny too.

Okay so I decided to so some digging into my car. I went into the center consle storage, my car is prewired.

Isn't this the fiber optic cable?

If that isn't enough I removed a few screws to get my some access to where the wire ends and theres this pink/magenta colored connector.

Correct. All 2005's and 2006's were "pre-wired" and have this black antenna a the top of the rear glass. Previous years may also have had this standard, I'm a little less familiar with them. 2007's were only pre-wired if the option was ordered.

Can anyone help me out to take out the a-pillar? The one by the right front passenger floor so I can see if my car has the wire ran for the AUX.
