Trunk Lid Won't Swing Open
My trunk lid used to swing open when the release button is pressed.
I noticed recently that while it unlocks when the release button is pressed, it no longer swings open.
Is there an adjustment to tweak inorder to let it swing open?
I tried the following
1. lubricated the hinges thinking they could have been sticking
2. cleaned the rubber moulding
still same.

There are 2 heavy springs on both sides attached to the 2 arms that attach the lid to the body/frame. One way to solve the issue is by lubing those springs (where those springs are attached) OR by replacing those 2 springs.
I am referring to the part labeled #90 in the picture attached below.

John and Glyn, I didn't know that those springs can be adjusted. Thanks to you guys, I now know. I will try to adjust the springs on my car's trunk lid this weekend :-)
sirei808, I suggest you also adjust the spring (lubing the spring won't bring back sagging spring).

I just changed the spring attachment location. I moved the spring to middle position on one side only and the lid deck snaps open nicely. I will move the other side spring later when the lid doesn't open fully.
Excellent. Thanks John and Glyn :-)

This Forum is GREAT!
I also did as JOHNAND recommended.
I did 1 notch adjustment and the trunk lid opens now.
Very good observation there my friends!
Thanks a lot!
Javvy, if it is that sensitive, now I know why it stopped swinging open on mine.. i added a chrome plate holder.
so much with MODS.

I checked last night and noted that the left spring has been moved to the 3rd position, but the right spring is only on the 2nd. Moved the right to the 3rd slot and now rear trunk cover is swinging full open from release.
Many thanks guys.
