05 SLK 350 Calipers rebirth

I got these calipers from a fellow member. This pictures show what some time and patience can produce.

The one on the left is as received. Then bead blasted on the right.

The final product - calipers painted and bolts polished.

It will be next weekend before I can bolt everything up. I've got the calipers ready, factory brake fluid and factory cross drilled rotors but still waiting on the new pads.

I don't know if this could be a stand alone DIY. You see the original in the picture. I bead blasted them as you see in the first pic. I masked off the interior portion of the calipers and spray painted them with caliper paint. I let it dry for two days and applied some decals I got off ebay. The last part is purely esthetic and that required a 3/8 drive 50 torx. I removed them one at a time, polished and reinstalled, as not to break the seal on the caliper. They were polished on my bench grinder fitted with a cotton wheel and some white tripoli.

To add a bit of color to the rear and balance things out, I did paint the rear calipers to match.

To fit these W204 wheels on my W203 required 15mm spacers. I used H&R. You can read about it in this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...r-spacers.html

As soon as I get a sunny day. It started pouring rain about 30 minutes after I finished the install.

These are 330mm, which is the number cast into the caliper mounting arms.
