2006 C230 Sport Performance Upgrades

Just bought a '06 c230 sport with the 6 spd manual. I have been doing research on what I can do to boost the performance and many of the websites seem kind of shady with what they are advertising and selling. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do increase the power of this car?

Things I was looking at:

-Turbo kit
-ECU Tune
-Intake/Exhause upgrades
-Anything else to boost my HP and Torque

I appreciate any suggestions or advice.

THE C350
lol Fail. Sorry dude there are not really any cost effective upgrades for a m272 engines.
No turbo kits for the cars
Ecu tunes are available as well as intake and exhaust mods But won't result in that much more power for the money.
If you want power in a w203 buy a c32 or c55. If you want a manual you get a c320 or c350 Manual.
Not trying to be mean but there are like 50 of the same exact threads on here at any giving time. and this is the reality of the 05-07 c230's The 02-04 c230s have way more mods available in the engine territory to try and boost power.
My advice do some basic mods and just enjoy the car as is with a few k left in your pocket. BTW we needs some pics

"annoyance" and "self-righteousness", amoung others...
have the resonator (and possibly secondary cats) removed and replace the muffler. adds a little SOTP feel (particularly upper RPMs), makes it sound faster, and seems to improve mpg as well.

Otherwise as ^^^^ he said, there's not much thats worth the money at this point.

Focus on the suspension if you'd like to improve performance... coilovers or springs, struts... and sway bars... make it a cornering machine and stay ahead of the competition when you out corner them!

otherwise upgrade the appearance and make it your own. you'll get more out of that anyway.

Turbo kit? Apparently you didn't do that much research.

Turbo kit lol. No man no turbo kit for w203. You can swap a Ls1 or something lol. For speed you shouldn't exactly have bought a C230 as I have told many people. The 2.5 isn't too great, you can do a exhaust, intake and do they make pulleys for these cars?

MB’s
Sorry my friend. No turbo kits made for the C230....HOWEVER!! There is a person who does make his own Turbo's over on MYMB website and he made a custom one for his W210 and a CLK. I dont know if he can do one for the C230 but you could check over there and see and I dont know the cost of the job. Kleeman and Brabus do make peformance parts for these cars but with the price of them you might as well trade in. Do keep in mind this is a C230. Its not a Porsche 959 and its not met to be fast. If you really want a C Class that can perform I would just trade in on a C63 or something of that nature.

I may be wrong... But aren't the C230s supercharged? Or is it just the 03-05 models that were supercharged? Idk.

2006 C230 6 speed
As others have said, it's a C230 not a Vette. That being said, you have a nice car in the C class, try to enjoy it for what it is. The 2.5 is not a bad engine, it lacks a bit of torque true, but when matted to a 6 speed provides decent acceleration. Just don't look for 4.5s to 60mph lol.

2006 C230 Sport V6 (2.5@201Hp)
Not a sports car, just a great handling C Class

I bought my 06' C230 Sport with 22k miles back in 2008 for 19,700(black on black).
Its an automatic which is what I prefer in luxury cars. When I first got it, she was much faster, and responded quicker than she does now (55K). I take great care of her, but she has lost much of her pep. I blame this partially on the timing chain/ belt coming of age.
Is this a common issue with this series of MB? What is the recommended interval to replace timing chain/ belt?
