Sunroof plastic guides

2004 c230

I looked all over and searched this site as well as others. I can't find my answer and figured I'd post a topic/ question. So my sunroof wouldn't close the other day. Well it did but up to a point. it closed up to about 3 inches, then it got stuck. I've never had this happen before so I didn't know what to do. So I left it till I got home. I found that there are two metal spring clips that are under a plastic molded guide for the slides to slide on. Well one of the plastic guide parts that hold the metal spring was broke and the spring was sticking out enough to stop the roof. Where and how can I get some help repairing this? If I could find a part number for the plastic guide parts I would try and replace them. I got the roof shut and the motor is good (no grinding noise), just these guide parts broken. Both sides are broken. If anyone knows what I am talking about and could help that would be great. I will continue to research this and I'll try and post pictures. Thanks

Here is the exploded view of the sunroof and the internal parts. Do you see those broken parts in this picture?

Not really, I'll try and snap a pic tonight and post it up. Maybe it is in there and I just don't recognize it.

Here is the part that is broken. It might be the spring to lift the wind deflector, but I'm not so sure my car has one. This might be 260 or 110 in the diagram, not real sure.

You can actually remove those clips, wind deflector, and associated plastic parts (that is, if you don't care for the wind deflector). Wind deflector is NOT a required part for the function of sunroof.

If you want to fix it, you may have to visit the MB dealer and show the sunroof to the parts guy and he should be able to identify the parts and order them for you.

Thanks, I don't even remember when the deflector came up last so I guess I don't really need it. I appreciate the help. I'll have to dig into it a bit deeper to see if it is easy to remove. If it is , then it should be easy to replace. I'm supprised that there hasn't been a thread about this already.

Does anyone have a diagram of the sunroof for C230K Coupe? I am trying to repair it myself after one corner would not close.

Is there a guide to removing the clips and wind deflector; or is it pretty simple to figure out? A plastic piece on our 2004 has broken which allows the metal spring arm, shown in OP's pictures, to move around and inhibit sunroof closure. If it is straightforward, i would like to get them and the deflector out until I can fix/replace the broken parts.
