The odds have to be astronomical to one, have something like this laying in the street and two to hit it dead center on the spike.

The irony is unbelievable. To have a piece made to fix your tires cause it to go flat.

And a good thing too, as they only have about 300 miles on them. You can still see the dots and flashing from the mold on the edge of the tread.

For some reason, there are residue around the metal piece. So that might be an indication you ran over a piece and one of it's metal piece some how got lodge between the center. As it rolls and rolls, the pointy side finally made contact to the rubber and after multiple rotations, it gets pushed into the tired more and more and came to rest as you find it the way it is now.

Doesn't surprise me. It is the first time the tire has ever been out of the trunk. Actually, I was surprised it had any air at all after 7 years. I guess I should check it on occassion.

I always wonder why we can't get a full tire instead of a small ugly one. I mean this is a luxury car.

ooo.. That's right.

What I mean, is a full size RIM that matches the others. Example, I drove a volvo S70 T5, full size RIM that matches the others in the trunk.

I guess this will put more weight on the car though. Just a thought.

All about the space and weight savings.

What are the chances though, I had the same luck with one of my front tires a week after putting them on.

Ran by Discount tire to have it fixed. Good news they fixed it for free. Bad news they wouldn't mount the tire on the car because of the spacers needed to fit W204 wheel on a W203. So, I changed it in their parking lot. I'm sure it made a big impression on their other patrons. I think enough that the manager had one of the techs come out with a torque wrench and torque it down for me.

You should be able to as long as the rolling diameter is the same.
