I have a 07 c230 35k, and my dealer has replaced three out of the four camshaft solenoid's in the past two months. The magnet was also replaced. Is this common, should I be looking for something else, my car is almost out of warranty and I would like to resolve any future issues relating to this now. Thanks for any tips.

 

This is a common issue with the M272 V6. It'll be fine now.

 

See Johnands thread. The mag assembly was redesigned AKA Solenoids. The problem is not the sensors.

I've also gone to the dealer to have the magnet and solenoid replaced. Seems like a way too common problem, good thing its easy to fix.

 

Just like my 03 Audi A4 - I had a set of coil packs for emergencies in the trunk.. I will order a set of these and just place them in the trunk.
