Hi All,
I am a newbie to this forum.
I have just purchased a C230 MY 2007. This is my first Merc. Hve yet to take delivery, about two weeks time. Very excited about it.
R there any particular things I have to b aware of with this car? Maybe I should have asked this question before buying...doh!
Hope to hear from you out there. Tks.

sure1, you may as well have gotten the least problematic w203 (2001-2007 c-class) around. It should treat you well! It is post facelift, so you have the amg kit, which is cosmetically appealing, and by the last production year, you definitely have a car that has most kinks worked out. Enjoy your new ride.

Yeah money can be an issue but if you live out of your car it helps. i think a few of the coupe owners do it lol
That was mean i am sorry to you crazy coupe owners you know i am just jealous that i don't have a 2005 c320 6speed coupe fully loaded
Sure1 good luck on the lottery don't forget about me i will gladly be your chauffeur for the Maybach.

Yeh, yeh, wait til I get my Maybach.
Do not know, what I have in the car, as owner's manual shows some features as optional*, and so I do not know if it was included in the package. I know this car has no rain sensor wipers, no reversing sensor, but is an auto with 7 speed transmission. Odometer is at about 36000 km. Rims 16". Colour Silver ? I think.
I m not very techno, hope to learn from you guys, in time.
Cheers

problems that you will encounter will be the known CPS's - crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensors.. plenty if threads about them so search is your friend.

Hi Xilley, yes, car manual says 6 forward speed. I suppose the 7th is the reverse gear. I dunno. I could be wrong.
Hi Dirtdiggler,
Yes, I read the threads on the crank/cam sensors but someone said they were fixed post 2000 V6. Hope this is correct. Fingers crossed.
Cheers
P.S.
I am from Australia, could it be so the specs are different to that in Nth America?

Congrats on the car! It's a great year for the C-class.
If you plan on modding or anything, make sure to search the forums first. You'll find that many of us have tried and have given up (with the exception of those who have gone overboard).
Just take care of the car and it'll take care of you.

Thanks guys.
Mine is not a sports version. It has the 7 speed but with 16" wheels. One can option for the 17" and other stuff like sun roof, reversing sensors, rain sensing wipers, etc.
No pics at this time as I will take ownership next week. A little concern about the CPS issue, but I guess that's a wear/tear/maintenance issue. Can anyone tell me if this is usually replaced after a certain distance travelled? My car has 36000 km.
I will consider getting a code scanner to help me diagnose problems when they arise. Any advise on pro & con on type and price?
Cheers

+1 They are the camshaft solenoids (aka magnets) that are the problem. They have been revised, but they are cheap and easy to replace, so don't sweat it.
Make sure to do the transmission service every 60000KM if you want it to last.
Congrats on the new car
