Something wrong with my supercharger ?

Something wrong with my supercharger ?
Hey guys, i was driving last night and i noticed that i do not hear my supercharger whining up anymore. For example when i use to go from 2k to 3k rpm i could hear my super charger whining up perfectly.

Right now however, all i hear is my engine getting louder, there is no more high pitched sound indicating my sc. Also, my rpm meter feels like it is climbing up really slow compared to what it use to be, my car just feels slower in general.

I do not have any check engine lights or anything coming on though. Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong ? I might think it has something to do with the colder weather and the engine being driven on a cold start..

Check your supercharger belt and your intercooler.

You would notice a significant decrease in power while accelerating without the SC. Have you noticed anything like that?

The computer monitors of a lot of things, but asking it to monitor wear and tear on the SC belt is a bit much. Like AMG055 suggested, check your SC belt...

Hey guys, my check engine light finally came on and it was the "secondary air injection system malfunction" code.

Does this hint further evidence of it being the belt ??



The car has 80k miles on it , so i am sure the belt is probably cracked or something.

My car is doing the exact same thing. Loss of power, and the whine did get less whiney from the SC. I'm gonna scan my car tomorrow to see whats up.

Guys, my super charger just started working again, my car feels normal and accelerates like it use to.


Does anyone know what might have happened ? the belt couldn't have broken or something if its working now...

Intermittent issues are the worst. You have no way of proving the issue won't come back. I'd check that SC belt just in case.
