2002 C320 Trans Fluid change Valvoline
Okay.. For the past week ive been reading a lot about which fluid to use for my 722.6 tranny.
I just came across this tonight valvoline
MaxLife® DEX/MERC ATF
This fluid is fully synthetic of course..
http://www.valvoline.com/products/co...ssion-fluid/37
Napa Auto parts
Part Number: VAL 324
Price: 5.49 Qt(s)
Please Read the PDF file on MAXlife ATF Here
http://www.valvoline.com/pdf/Maxlife_ATF.pdf
You will see
Mercedes Benz NAG1 applications
Marked on that list.
Well i was looking up what that was and this is what i came up with.
Wiki: 5G-Tronic
The Mercedes-Benz 5G-TRONIC (also called 722.5, 722.6) is an electronically shifted 5-speed overdrive automatic transmission. It is in the process of being replaced by the Mercedes Benz 7G-Tronic Transmission which was introduced in 2003. However, all V12-powered cars such as the S600 and S65 AMG still retain the 5G-Tronic, which has a torque capacity of 796 lb-ft, as the newer 7G-Tronic is limited to 542 lb-ft, not enough to handle the torque from the V12 engine. [1] Also, while rear-wheel drive W211 E-Class cars have adapted the 7G-Tronic, those with 4MATIC retain the five-speed automatic, although the next-generation W212 E-Class released for the 2010 model year has dropped the 5G-Tronic entirely.
In Chrysler applications this transmission is identified as the New Automatic Gearbox- Generation One, or NAG1.

If you scroll down and look on that list you will see

2000-2004 Mercedes-Benz W203
So my car is a 2002 c320 and i was wondering can i buy this fluid and get away with my transmission flush?
Napa pulled this up for a list of fluids to use and its the only one they sell along with my power steering fluid Pentosin AIC CHF11S
Please let me know thanks

This is not an appropriate fluid for the 722.6 - it's a hell of a compromise & not approved. Use Fuchs Titan 4134 - Seems the cheapest available approved fluid in the US.
It's interesting just how much torque a 722.6 can absorb. It's one tough transmission.

I can't seem to find Fuchs Titan 4134 in any of the local shops around here..
Autozone
Pepboys
kragen
Mobil ATF 134
Seems to be on the list
I wanna be able to buy everything around me so i can get the job done either today or tomorrow
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...X2y_8bFDDHWJvA
I was also reading that the new 7 speed that MB has. Is cheaper than the 5 speed ATF and its backwards compatible.

You won't find it at those stores.
Wait a while, order your Fuchs fluid online from rmeuropean dot com.

Most of the on-line auto parts places ship from California and Arizona. So, it shouldn't take more than a day or two.

Mr. Ruck is correct to recommend the latest 236.14 specification ATF in our 722.6 & 722.9 transmissions.
Although Ashland refines and blends some worthwhile products (its HOAT G-05 antifreeze among them), it’s false economy to substitute ‘universal’ ATF for use our costly gearbox.
Note several modified M113 Kompressor and V-12 enthusiasts here beat on ‘em mercilessly, yet they’ve proven remarkably reliable when properly maintained.

Regarding Rocky Mountain European -
Submitted a web-site order late Sunday evening last, including fourteen liters (for another complete flush) of Fuchs’ 4134. After sleeping on it, called them with a few additional preventative maintenance items & revisions at first light Monday morning. Specified ‘free’ ground shipping on the $500/40-pound order (circumventing L.A. County’s 9.75% tariff in the process), only to discover all of them waiting on my front porch upon returning from the work Tuesday.
I can recommend them without reservation.
splinter Jr. and I will be enjoying some quality time together in the garage this weekend.

I exclusively use rme as well. My first order with them i messed something up they kept apoligizing and took care of me. I Have ordered from them 3 or 4 times now and always have gotten exactly what i ordered within a week. They ship fedex ground for there free shipping so ca to va takes awhile but for the price and free shipping i don't complain.
May i also recommend PN 203-820-15-21 and 203-820-16-21
They are the updated clear mirror turn signal lights best $50 dollars i have ever spend on my car. I have some pics if you want to see what they look like.

Bix, Blinkers, tails. I already had the clear fogs, and added the grill later.
Our car are filled with subliminal features.
If you read the owners manual cover to cover you may be surprised.

I have been searching all Forums, user manual , yahoo, googel ....... , to find out they type transmission oil to use cor 2002 MB C320 . Very confusing , DEALER told me any MB made ATF can be used for all years/models. their web site gives part # 001989210310 or any ATF that is covered by specifications 236.10 or 236.12 , the transmission fr my car is 722.6 .
Can i use " Valvoline IMPORT multi-vehicle FULL SYNTHETIC Automatic transmission fluid . The use list shown on the can includes Mercedes Benz NAG-1 236.10 OR OLDER ( . I apwhat does older mean here ? ).
I preciate any advise . Thank you .

You should use fluid approved against 236.14. Mandated by Benz from approx 2007 for 722.6.
See letter in Wiki.

I hope one of you can help me out. My 2006 Jeep Commander happens to have a 5G-Tronic transmission. I have the dip stick with the temp marks, I just don't have the transmission Fluid Graph for the transmission. Can someone please help me out.
This page is going to be big help, because my Jeep may have the name Jeep, but the whole thing was built by DaimlerChrysler. In fact the 5G-Tronic transmission was built by Chrysler. I have learned a lot reading about Mercedes that has helped my understand more about the Commander.
Thank you
