Wiki: 5G-Tronic
The Mercedes-Benz 5G-TRONIC (also called 722.5, 722.6) is an electronically shifted 5-speed overdrive automatic transmission. It is in the process of being replaced by the Mercedes Benz 7G-Tronic Transmission which was introduced in 2003. However, all V12-powered cars such as the S600 and S65 AMG still retain the 5G-Tronic, which has a torque capacity of 796 lb-ft, as the newer 7G-Tronic is limited to 542 lb-ft, not enough to handle the torque from the V12 engine. [1] Also, while rear-wheel drive W211 E-Class cars have adapted the 7G-Tronic, those with 4MATIC retain the five-speed automatic, although the next-generation W212 E-Class released for the 2010 model year has dropped the 5G-Tronic entirely.
In Chrysler applications this transmission is identified as the New Automatic Gearbox- Generation One, or NAG1.

So my car is a 2002 c320 and i was wondering can i buy this fluid and get away with my transmission flush?
Napa pulled this up for a list of fluids to use and its the only one they sell along with my power steering fluid Pentosin AIC CHF11S
Please let me know thanks

It's interesting just how much torque a 722.6 can absorb. It's one tough transmission.

Although Ashland refines and blends some worthwhile products (its HOAT G-05 antifreeze among them), it’s false economy to substitute ‘universal’ ATF for use our costly gearbox.
Note several modified M113 Kompressor and V-12 enthusiasts here beat on ‘em mercilessly, yet they’ve proven remarkably reliable when properly maintained.

Regarding Rocky Mountain European -
Submitted a web-site order late Sunday evening last, including fourteen liters (for another complete flush) of Fuchs’ 4134. After sleeping on it, called them with a few additional preventative maintenance items & revisions at first light Monday morning. Specified ‘free’ ground shipping on the $500/40-pound order (circumventing L.A. County’s 9.75% tariff in the process), only to discover all of them waiting on my front porch upon returning from the work Tuesday.
I can recommend them without reservation.
splinter Jr. and I will be enjoying some quality time together in the garage this weekend.
May i also recommend PN 203-820-15-21 and 203-820-16-21
They are the updated clear mirror turn signal lights best $50 dollars i have ever spend on my car. I have some pics if you want to see what they look like.
Something neat i just found out today.. My driver side mirror started to fog up turned on the heater and it started to defrost =P i guess its heated

Bix, Blinkers, tails. I already had the clear fogs, and added the grill later.
Our car are filled with subliminal features.
If you read the owners manual cover to cover you may be surprised.
Can i use " Valvoline IMPORT multi-vehicle FULL SYNTHETIC Automatic transmission fluid . The use list shown on the can includes Mercedes Benz NAG-1 236.10 OR OLDER ( . I apwhat does older mean here ? ).
I preciate any advise . Thank you .

See letter in Wiki.
Can i safely use any ATF as long as it meets 236.14 ?
Since i am not flushing the trasmission , i am sure a lot of original MB oil still in ( i used suction 3 Qt. ) . Can diffrent types of oil mix ? ( old is MB , replace some with Valvoline )

Remember to change the filter!
This page is going to be big help, because my Jeep may have the name Jeep, but the whole thing was built by DaimlerChrysler. In fact the 5G-Tronic transmission was built by Chrysler. I have learned a lot reading about Mercedes that has helped my understand more about the Commander.
Thank you
