Car sounds ****ty on startup ?
So my friend said my car sounds like **** when i turn it on... it doesn't have that engine roar sound that most sports cars do. It sounds like a weak engine with a belt turning, which i am assuming is the supercharger warming up ??
Does anyone else notice this too or is it only me ?

Post a video w/ the sound. We've gotta hear it to make suggestions. Heck for all we know, you could just be low on power steering fluid and the pump is making a noise. lol

Remove the belt and check for 'play' on all pullies (idler pulley, belt tensioner pulley, power steering pulley, alternator, AC compressor, water pump). Idler pulley and the belt tensioner pullies tend to wear and start making noise. Very easy to identify and very easy to raplace.

I think this is just a friend that doesn't know what a Mercedes I4 sounds like on start. They sound like tractors with diesel engines. It's normal. And no, not a sports car by ANY stretch of the imagination.

in fact...no MB engine ever sound good other than maybe the M156 in the 63 cars. I can't remember that last MB engine that sounds good at start up.
