All coupes are built in Sindelfingen. Most left hand drive sedans and wagons are built in Germany at Sindelfingen, Bremen and possibly one other location. Some left had drive sedans are built in Brazil. All right hand drive sedans and wagons are built in South Africa.

 

The sticker in my 320 door jam says manufactured in Stuttgart.

 

My sticker says "MFD BY DAIMLERCHRYSLER AG STUTTGART" which is like a Taurus having a sticker saying "MFD BY FORD INC DETROIT". It is just giving info about where the corporate hq is. Sindelfingen is a suburb of Stuttgart.

 

Lynne is correct all right hand drive c class sedans are made in South Africa in a town called East London (East London is a town on the east coast of South Africa and has nothing to do with Britian).

There are many car manufacturers here, from Toyota, VW to BMW. We usually make right hand drive cars for the world market so the US market will not get our cars. I just wish my C230K was built in South Africa because the German import is of much lower quality than the C Class Sedans built here.

 

don't the cars come with stickers when you buy them that say where all the parts came from and where it was assembled?

My car was made in Bremen, Germany. If you want to see where yours was made do a search for "VIN Check Brazil" in the W203 forums. There is a lot of information about what the VIN stands for and where it is made. And there is a link to a VIN check where it will tell you where you car was made.
